Yes, this reminds me of all of those Mexican action movies I've caught bits and pieces of on Spanish-language stations, like the one where an action scene consisted mostly of a brawny villian hoisting a wooden pallet over his head to sort of drop on the hero laying prone on the floor of a warehouse, only to have some of the most unconvincing squibs explode on his shirt before he falls over, cut to hero sudden having grabbed a gun out of nowhere.
Or some movie where the main villian had what looked like a prosthetic hand attached to his arm with a bunch of canvas wrapped around his wrist and the secret weapon was it could extend a blade the width of a pencil.
