I want to see these kids get a job at a women's correctional facility. I want them to rape some chick for five fucking years, and when she gets defiant I want them to rape her so hard that eight months later when the prison doctor finally examines her, it's still obvious that they raped her. She'll be shitting her pants for the rest of her life and when she finally triumphs in court they spend 60 days in jail and don't have to register as sex offenders.

I think that sounds like justice because I am kind of racist and just assume that magical black guys appear out of nowhere to rape white people a lesson like it's a fucking movie in the 90s and then they disappear into the mist. It does not fucking occur to me that my state has a policy of raping prisoners and that might be wrong. It doesn't occur to me that prison rapists are usually just regular rapists that either got sent to prison or got a job there. I'm too stupid to realize that the victims are usually nonviolent criminals and the convicted innocent. Yeah, rape rooms for pot smokers and colored people that couldn't afford lawyers. I'm pretty sure I'm on the right side of this issue.

Jokes, exactly. There's a good chance that people are just blowing off steam, and don't really trust prisons to maintain a Justice Rape Squad to enforce karmic payback. You don't know much about rape. Most rape victims know their assailant and most don't report it. Have you ever wondered why so many women feel that the price of reporting a rapist is too high? Forget the bullshit that you've heard about the guy with a knife waiting in the alley, here's how real rape goes down. Some guy gets lures a woman he knows and is probably dating into what rape culture advocates call a "gray area". Usually that involves her being drunk in front of witnesses. Then he rapes her, either using force or, more likely her female socialization to turn her NO into, well, not saying no anymore. Sometimes they use alcohol, but it's often just to give them an alibi in the court of public opinion.

The reality of rape is so different from every depiction we make in fiction and on the news that it's not uncommon for women to have trouble calling it rape. Then that victim decides whether or not to report it to the authorities. A typical rape victim doesn't. Why? Look at what happens to the women that do!

When a woman puts herself out there and accuses someone of rape, there's always a lot of jokes about her. What those people are saying is that they are not going to take her allegations seriously. Either you join in or you choose to be the oversensitive feminist/mangina that takes offense to it. Jokes are a very important tool in the rape kit. It's how the people that don't have the victim's back organize.

Lots of people choose to go along even with reservations because they just can't see rocking the boat for someone that would make such a ridiculous accusation. And all of the accusations are ridiculous, because we never really talk about rapists as people. Think about it, who in your circle of friends would you believe a rape accusation about? My rapist was a polite, easygoing guy that gave his time to charity. He could cook, too.

There's a reason I'm not okay with you imagining a revenge scenario where your imaginary justice dealer rapes someone and gets away with it. I'm pretty sure MY rapist was one of those people that got to walk out of prison without being punished for raping somebody. So no, it's not fucking okay to vent that way.

I know it fucking sucks having someone tell you not to make jokes, but it doesn't suck nearly as much as hearing people tell a joke where the fucking punchline is a rapist not getting in trouble for raping someone. Look, Blue, the difference between this guy raping a girl, and this guy being raped, is that the girl doesn't deserve it. This guy does. It's the same reason you think genital mutilation is funny. In your mind, we'd "deserve" to have our genitals crushed in a car door (haha that'd be funny!), but, presumably, some poor random innocent would not (why, I'd never laugh at that!)

I get that you have a personal issue with rape, and I feel for you. I do! I was molested as a kid myself, shit sucks, and there's nothing funny about that. I agree, in principle, that prison rape should not be condoned. This is because our prison system has a very high rate of false convictions, and innocent men should not be subject to rape. Our prison system should operate on the principle that "it is better that ten rapists go unraped, than that one innocent man gets a visit from Bubba the Magic Negro". Another problem is that our karmic rape system is pretty ad hoc; it's poorly organized, and poorly implemented. Nonviolent offenders, and criminals guilty of violent crimes less heinous than rape, do not deserve to be raped. Karmic rape, as currently understood, is blind cruelty, metted out against everyone regardless of the severity of their crime.

But we're not talking about prison rape-as-general practice here. We're not talking about rape culture, or about not punishing rapists, or even about raping women period. We're talking about raping ONE guy, or perhaps one small group of guys. Guys we KNOW raped a number of helpless girls. Guys who are on the verge of getting away scott free. Guys who are right here, on camera, bragging about that shit for TWELVE STRAIGHT MINUTES. You want justice? Help us with our Kickstarter - "get the Steubenville Football Team raped".
