Getting this to confuse the hell out of your parakeet is the only sane reason to buy it.

MrBuddy - 2013-01-07

When we were kids we had a parakeet that had a plastic parakeet to keep it company. You wouldn't think that would work but when you're a bird with a brain the size of a pencil eraser you tend to be gullible. Mom's younger brother also had a parakeet so we put them in the same cage together. Our bird ran back and forth on the perch, chattered away and beat up on the real bird thinking it was plastic one. Finally the real bird turned its head and looked at our bird which promptly fell over backward off the perch and landed in the bottom of the cage.

Binro the Heretic - 2013-01-06

That's not perfect.

THAT'S NOT PERFECT AT ALL!

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-01-06

Red and purple? They're not just real, they're BETTER THAN REAL!

CuteLucca - 2013-01-06

I remember romantic evenings at home, cuddled together on the couch, gazing lovingly at our plastic parakeet...

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-01-06

Even this live parakeet can't tell the difference, and when it finally does, you'll feel like a monster.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-01-06

"I thought I had finally found true love! Why did you lie to me! The horrible, horrible lie!"

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-01-06

On the other hand, do you know how much RealDoll's cost?

Not that I do. I just hear... things.

Mother Lumper - 2013-01-06

It's shaking its head no, no, polly shouldn't be.

BHWW - 2013-01-06

Do Androids Dream of Electronic Parakeets?

MrBuddy - 2013-01-07

Do you like our parakeet?
Is it artificial?
Of course it is.

gravelstudios - 2013-01-06

Fellow citizens! The time is now to consume. Why skimp, when you deserve more?

Mancakes - 2013-01-06

This is a goddamn fever dream. The dog and child staring blindly, the off switch in its ass, everything.

kamlem - 2013-01-07

I'm assuming a quick search will find that parakeets gangstalk YouTube channel.

snothouse - 2013-01-07

THE HEAD MOVES, ALONG WITH ITS TAIL FEATHERS
(close up of tail feathers, not moving)

Bort - 2013-01-07

From the description I assumed this was a parody of a commercial, so I couldn't figure out how this was fundamentally different from real commercials for crap that nobody needs. Okay, there's a little bit of subtle commentary like the tail feathers that don't appear to move unless you go full-screen and watch frame-by-frame like the Zapruder film. And yeah, it's a horrible concept. But still, I've seen worse in real life.

Then I realized that it was a real commercial that I was trying to analyze for its artistic content. Got me again, Flash!

MrBuddy - 2013-01-07

http://www.perfectpollypet.com/ still works. Sadly there's not Twitter feed for it.

Redford - 2013-01-07

While not a blatant rip-off, it takes a certain attitude to claim that a plastic parrot that constantly plays a 3 second sound loop is better then a live bird.

Koda Maja - 2013-01-07

"...but live birds can be a lot of work,"

shown as woman easily cleans out bird cage.

Rudy - 2013-01-07

Excellent! I've always wanted the experience of incessant, random squawking without having to actually care for another living thing!

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-01-10

But does it shit?
