The first time I went into a women's restroom it was packed with women and nearly all of them were in lingerie. Most of them were just wearing panties. The room was like a long hallway with sinks and mirrors on either side with the stalls at the very back. Most of the women were at the mirrors doing their makeup. I tried not to look at anybody's tits, but pretty much the middle 1/3 of everything I could see was either topless women or reflected topless women. Not looking in the general direction of breasts meant looking at the floor, and that would have made me look like I didn't belong there.

Of course, that was at a sex industry conference so really, I didn't see anything that I wouldn't have seen walking around the conference floor. I feel your pain. The hormones could have done so much more for me if I'd been in a position to start 'em when I was, say, 20 or so. But I'm glad this video is getting the attention it is. I spent a lot of my life feeling pretty hopeless. I think stuff like this can show trans people that an authentic life is achievable. Things are changing pretty rapidly with regard to awareness of trans issues, it seems.

More than I thought, anyways. I don't know why this particular timeline got the attention of the larger internet. Compared to some other trans women's timelines, this is pretty middle of the road as far as before and after goes. I'm happy to see other folks able to deal with their gender identity. I stalled on dealing with this stuff for most of my 20s, which was just stupid.

I was on POE, but I lived in various parts of the jungle for stretches of time and thus had no internet access, so I must have missed this one.

So you gals were fans of JDR and heard she had been a subject of POE and went there to find everyone mocking this JDR woman and decided to stick around, or how did it happen?

That's how it happened for me, pretty much. It took me far too long to realize that she was a loon.

I just had this notion that POE and PO-NEWS (may they rest in peace) and POETV would (almost) only appeal to misanthropic white male nerds.

I also had a lot of notions of transexuals as all being "streetwalking" promiscuous people but I guess I'm a fucking retard.

At a time when it was hard to get information about transexuality from anywhere other than the internet, JDR was pretty much the main source of info. She had a very prominent domain name, which actually carried a lot of authority. She also was offerring a test for transexuality, which, if such a thing actually existed, would be an amazing shortcut through a necessary but very emotionally difficult part of life.

Fun fact: the COGAITI is the single most scientific thing that evolutionary psychology has ever been used for.

I dunno why so many transwomen stayed with POE. Probably has something to do with the fact that our lives were so positively impacted by an exhibit.

The only person I've known who identified as a tryke lived as a man and had no plans to transition at all (for money and health reasons), although I haven't seen him in 8 years so who knows what's happened since then.

It's about more than who they want to have sex with, it's about how they feel about their own bodies.

I mean, if she just wanted to have sex with other men, she could have just remained a man and had homosexual relationships, but she obviously felt something else needed to be changed.

So, yes, I could understand someone wanting to undergo gender reassignment even when they're already attracted to the opposite sex.

I think there's a bit of confusion because it can seem like every other TS is gay/lesbian, but I think the logical observation is "One's sexual orientation isn't always tied to ones gender". Which we should know already.

So a society that skews heterosexual will seem to be skewing homosexual if you reverse genders, maybe nature just works that way I guess.
