Constant stream of poor shlubs forced to fly in and attend classes on Windows upgrades because the companies were contractually obligated to. Every single feedback card was crying bullshit how the whole thing was just a commercial for the next product.

I tried a lot of browsers in the 7 years I was dpoing all of my work online, and to this day the only one I really like much is Opera. I'll use Firefox for noncompliant pages that Opera doesn't handle well (pretty rare these days, but it was more of an issue a few years ago) but the UI feels clunky and dated compared to Opera. A lot of stuff that Firefox introduced in 2011 has been in Opera since the middle of the last decade.

I remember thinking that I'd be an adult and I'd see pogs again as a weird generational thing. I remember thinking it would seem dumber though.
I kinda assumed it would be the kind of event that we would look back to and analyze. I kinda thought there would be history channel special investigating the strange moment in time when little cardboard circles were insanely popular.

I had the 56k dialup modem, being external it worked faster than the internal modem that seemed to suck all the energy out of the computer.
I use Firefox and was glad to get off of IE at the time, but now would use most any browser that had an adblock!
