Back in the day, they used to have really classy musical performances between sketches and commercials. I can remember seeing this one air live. I can remember watching Randy Newman sing "The Big One" and Paul Simon with Ladysmith Black Mambazo performing "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes".

I also remember a really great bit with Madeline Khan dressed as the Bride of Frankenstein singing "I Feel Pretty" from "West Side Story". Once, they even had the Broadway cast of "The Pirates of Penzance" on to perform a few numbers from the show.

And don't get me started on how they used to have great short films by the likes of Albert Brooks.
