Okay, you put Belle and Sebastian and the word "classic' together. But, no.

jangbones - 2013-02-24 I just listened to this album again and stand by that assessment

Old_Zircon - 2013-02-24 Pitchfork . I can't decide whether to give it 1 star or 5.
I could care less about the band one way or the other. They're pleasantly forgettable and I could come up with literally 50-100 bands that did the same thing as well or better in the 60s.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-02-24 Everyone has differences of opinions about music, but you shouldn't let that bias your rating. Its still a really fun and well-crafted piece, regardless of your feelings about them as a band.
|
Spaceman Africa - 2013-02-24 I don't know what "thing" Belle and Sebastian did, but I can't think of 50 let alone 100 bands in the 60s a lot like it.

I watched this docu yesterday, and I absolutely loved it. I remember when I first heard Belle & Sebastian back at a party in '96 or '97. To this day their music reminds me of college in a very good way. Pitchfork should do more of these.

jangbones - 2013-02-24 In the Aeroplane would be a ratings grabber
Rid of Me
Enter the Wu-Tang
Chinese Democracy

jangbones - 2013-02-24 Chinese Democracy was in production for 15 years and went through four lead guitarists. It was the most expensive album ever made. I am not interested in Guns 'n Roses but Jesus Christ, that documentary would be like Citizen Kane.

Music from the late nineties is not in any way shape or form classic if you're over the age of 14.

Spaceman Africa - 2013-02-24 I don't see why not. At what year does an album become "classic"?
|
StanleyPain - 2013-02-24
Pitchfork and "classic" albums.

Squidmojo - 2013-02-24
I have boundless love for this album.
But I would love a Jeff Mangum documentary.
