I'm surprised. He seemed like a real straight shooter.

Binro the Heretic - 2013-02-24

The sequestration was an idiotic move.

It's like the cops giving the hostage taker a gun and saying "Surrender or shoot the hostages!"

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2013-02-24

Yeah, but how cool is it that congress really worked hard on fucking itself over.

cognitivedissonance - 2013-02-24

They're waiting for the phone call on Keystone XL. That is what it's all about.

Konversekid - 2013-02-24

Is it really a change of heart? He goes on about how sequestration deterred governments from not making a disciplined budget, which ultimately led to good governance. Instead of being deterred the government has now accepted the sequestre and thus he is demonizing them for not being motivated to govern well.

lordyam - 2013-02-24

Except this is coming from the modern-day Republican party. These are the same douchebags who claim to be all about jobs, the economy, tax cuts, etc., and instead do the following:

1. Try to lower taxes for those who are already wealthy, and prevent the taxes on the wealthy from going up. Keep in mind that the taxes for the wealthiest Americans/corporations have been declining steadily for over 40 years, and we've seen none of the promised increases in jobs or real wages. Now we have bazillionaires who make their money by not actually producing or doing anything, or even hiring anyone. They just have this giant video game called "Wall Street" which is geared to increase their fortunes at the expense of the economy, win or lose (and by lose I mean "get bailed out").

2. Cutting programs they hate for no rational reason as opposed to actually trying to find a solution to our economic problems. This is mostly PBS and Planned Parenthood, which even if you got rid of them, would do about as much for deficit reduction as cutting research into why bears shit in the woods. On a side note, for those who want to privatize PBS, go look at the Learning Channel. It started out as a project from NASA and several other groups who wanted a high-caliber educational channel, and then it was privatized. It's the home of Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo.

3. Punish everyone for having sex and/or being poor. Restrict birth control, arrest the two-bit criminal instead of the white collar crime that happens every day, and do everything possible to deny science in schools.

So fuck any GOPer talking about governing well. They're all ideologues, or are forced to be, and they're worse than useless. When it comes to getting anything worthwhile done, they're about as helpful as cancer.

jangbones - 2013-02-24

the sequester is not good government

the GOP would normally love to take credit for any slash in spending, but they know how hugely unpopular this particular method will be

it should be unpopular, its a damned mess, a terrible policy, and a failure of effective governing by the entire government, both parties

dairyqueenlatifah - 2013-02-24

Hahahaha he was almost Vice President.

cognitivedissonance - 2013-02-25

It was not as "almost" as you're led to believe.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-02-25

Human sized pile of shit.

hughmanatee - 2013-02-25

the answer is defense spending?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-02-25

Sequestration would be responsible for decimating the educational system even more, and not allowing children vaccinations. Which would result in greater disease.

Way to save a few bucks by killing our children you fuckers.

jangbones - 2013-02-25

the small government types are completely unconvinced that preventative spending can save an economy billions, despite continents of evidence

joelkazoo - 2013-02-25

Every time I hear him talk, I want to do things to him that if I said out loud would put me on a government watch list.

memedumpster - 2013-02-25

Let the dead speak for you. What's that, Voltaire... ?

"Man will truly only be free when the last politician is strangled with the entrails from the last priest."
