At a guess, the Bronies that are into already making humanoid versions of the characters are going to claim they're being ripped off (the Sonichu Effect?) and I'd figure some of the fandom will just think it's a blasphemy against... Ponydom? Ponanity? Ponannas? I dunno.

I don't see the beef with it. Its a spin. They say it'll have no effect on the show. If anything they'll like the new one once they give it a chance.

I haven't been following too closely, but I love the irony here, if I'm understanding things right. First the rage at the rest of us for not giving a show made for 5 year old girls the chance it deserves (shame on us), all the while raging at anything new the company does as ruining it declaring they're leaving the fandom.

I've never seen a full episode, though I've seen clips and even posted a few to the hopper (I still liked one that crossed over between this show and Oblivion, but that's just me).

The show has become a pervasive meme. It's used for forum icons, animated gifs, etc. It's almost impossible to have not gleaned some parts of it by osmosis.

Come to think about it, there are a LOT of cartoon shows I "know" about via this method without actually having watched an entire 22-minute show. Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Ben 10, Clone Wars, etc.
