Wikipedia's article on the Harlem Shake is longer and cites roughly ten times as many sources as it's article on Proust.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-03-26

Are you saying someone managed to win at the "Summarize Proust" competition?

EvilHomer - 2013-03-26

Those stars up there are yours.

memedumpster - 2013-03-26

That's not too big a difference considering the ratio of humans who have heard of the Harlem Shake to humans who have heard of Proust is literally 7.5 billion to 12.

memedumpster - 2013-03-26

Was 7.5 billion to 1, but the 1 wrote Little Miss Sunshine and revolutionized the Proust literary world.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2013-03-26

for meme

Mother_Puncher - 2013-03-26

Why?

Riskbreaker - 2013-03-26

I still don't get the whole harlem shake thing.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2013-03-26

I've yet to hear the harlem shake song or see more than 5 seconds of any performance thereof. Call Me Maybe, on the other hand, was musical and performance genius

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-03-27

There's nothing to get. It's a hollow, empty sort of thing.

Toenails - 2013-03-26

A couple weeks ago the Simpsons' couch gag was the Harlem shake (Although the "lyrics" were changed to "The Homer Shake").

This video is pretty similar to the original gag that I'm thinking whoever made this still watches Simpson episodes (like me).

P.S. The episode in question was actually a pretty good story about how Abe Simpson use to wrestle as a pretty boy heel (a.k.a. Gorgeous George or Ric Flair) back in the 50s.

EvilHomer - 2013-03-26

If you can find it, I'll vote it out of the hopper. No promises on the stars, though.

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2013-03-26

I submitted it a couple weeks ago and it got shot down in a ball of flames.

FABIO - 2013-03-26

Youtube is raising an entire generation of kids who don't quite understand the definition of parody.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-03-26

I like to imagine after all the congealed, horribly unfunny senses of humor/comedy have gathered in mass, the entire thing will burn down as the self-aware become bitter, bored, depressed and angry at their own generation, they'll finally get the hint that the internet isn't the entire world.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-03-27

doctorlegua??

Adham Nu'man - 2013-03-27

I think this is, in fact, DrLegua. DrLegua was Italian, and on this channel there is another video of a Smurf dancing, which tellingly has the word Puffi in square brackets. Puffi is the Italian word for Smurfs.
