I really don't get anyone here or on YouTube trying to in any way mitigate this asshole's actions by either saying "they cut him off" or, without any other evidence, "they tried to run him off the road."

I was cut off in traffic by someone passing me on the right in a single lane this morning and cutting me off just so he could be one car-length ahead when we stopped at a red light. What do you legal eagles think I'd be justified in doing? Stepping out and punching him? Waving a gun?
