I think it's more like he alludes to at the start - the HURR HURR TELL US IN YOUR FLOWERY LANGUAGE HOW MUCH IT RUINED OUR BELOVED FRANCHISE chant from the crowd can be kinda off-putting. So, he turned it into an attack on the whole series instead. His niche has been built on more-than-occasionally stomping on peoples' beloved games, not just being the attack dog, and given the press right now, that's like a Phantom Menace review spending the entire time taking shots at Jar Jar.
What did he say about the franchise that he didn't like? I got the impression that he liked previous versions, but not this one (for some list of unfathomable reasons culminating in the resignation of EA's CEO).
Origin used to be a company that made some of the most influential games of all time. EA swallowed it up and now it's been dissolved into a shitty download service.

Back in the dawn of time when 8 bit microcomputers roamed the steppes, EA was responsible for bringing about some of the more novel and imaginative games by empowering developers and small workshops. So I still get a pain everytime I see the EA logo and remember when they were good, and why it's okay to hate them.
