Oh the old "WE ARE SO CONFIDENT WITH OUR MASCULINITY..." argument. Yeah, okay.

Cena_mark - 2013-03-31

I don't use that argument cause I am confident in my masculinity. I'll even admit that its shameful and lame to be brony, but whatever. It doesn't cost me enough man points to make me not a badass.
Two of the most badass people in the world could possibly be bronies. There's John Cena who is an admitted anime fan who played on some of Rarity's dialogue in a promo and CM Punk who utilizes Twilight Sparkle's symbol on his trunks and shirts.

EvilHomer - 2013-03-31

How many man points does it cost to be a brony? And do you get a discount if you decide your favorite pony is Big Mac?

Cena_mark - 2013-03-31

That's a good question. Lets say your average man has 100 man points. I'd say being a brony would cost you about 105, however, liking a badass pony like Applejack or Big Mac would give you a 20 point discount, but having Rarity as your favorite pony costs you an extra 20 points. This is just loose speculation of course. And I have more man points than the average man because I'm a former bouncer.

"We totally subvert the dominant paradigm blah blah blah..."

Somebody book this guy for a TED talk!

sasazuka - 2013-03-31

O wait, not an actual quote from the video. Damn you, misleading description!

wtf japan - 2013-03-31

Woah, this guy needs to go back in the oven...

Sudan no1 - 2013-03-31

Huuuurgh. Yeah good job coopting a show for little girls so now it isn't even for them anymore (see fan inspired characters like 'Derpy'). Good job not subverting the paradigm where everything has to be about the interests of 18-49 year old white men.

Xenocide - 2013-03-31

I wonder if someone ever told this guy that it's possible to just watch a TV show without basing your entire identity around it.

SolRo - 2013-03-31

ATTN; all people with any hobby

You don't need to defend your hobby, unless deep down you yourself think something is wrong about it, but you still want someone else to tell you it's OK.

Or you're an idiot that thinks their creepy hobby should be mainstream - that the majority of men will like your little girl cartoon show - that someone will actually accept your "I know the anime girl looks eight but the story says she's eighteen!" reasoning

Gmork - 2014-04-11

EvilHomer, etc

EvilHomer - 2014-04-11

The funny thing is, this was from before I started watching the show. It's weird to see year-ago me troll-commenting on MLP.

I'm not a brony, though, and I don't know why you think I am. I think the show is brilliant, yes, but I don't consider the show to be a part of my personal identity, and I don't associate with fans outside of the other PoEnies here on poeTV.
