I've been playing games since I was a small child and this is just embarrassing, gamer "culture" is...its something these days.

So-called 'gamer culture' is embarassing, my problem with it is one of my problems with so-called 'geek culture' or 'nerd culture'; people centering their lives and basing their identities around being a GAMER-4-LIFE, and frankly carrying around an entirely unwarranted sense of superiority about themselves based on which subset of media they regularly consume; that and the whole VIDYA GAMES ARE ART! DON'T YOU REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS?!? mindset and the "ugh, vapid casuals" attitude.

One becomes distressed at just how often the common man bandies about the terms "Worst" and "Best" these days with nothing approaching a ranking or, at the very least, a qualifier. For example, were you and I to share a bowl of soup, it is possible that it may have been the worst soup I have ever had, but NOT the worst soup that YOU have ever had.. were I to proclaim that my soup is the worst soup ever, you would be quite within your rights to take umbrage with my careless and possibly harmful declaration of "worst soup". Now had I qualified it as the worst soup "I" had ever sampled, or the worst soup I have enjoyed this month, perhaps I would be forgiven by you for having not referenced the soups place in the history of "worst soups". It was merely 13,245th worst by the way; nothing to be concerned about.
