Do I have to turn off adblock to view it because I can't see it.
|
The Mothership - 2013-04-17 its at the top, in white hypertext, just to the left of |73q Music Videos| It doesn't show up on some other pages, like individual video pages, the submit page or user pages; but it is on the mainpage and the hopper.
|
Hooker - 2013-04-17 It started out as a default HTML text link (i.e., blue, unbolded, etc.), but then later, it became the same font and bolded like verything else, but the colour white. Now it seems to have changed to more of a cream white.
I am absolutely fascinated by it.

simon666 - 2013-04-17 Why don't we rate random videos and items with stars and comments?
|
FatFatuousNation - 2013-04-17 An Amazon Top 10 list of most poeworthy purchases, created by a user or set of users, is a great idea. I think a lot of us would be interested in buying the weird things someone might dig up.
Alternatively, adding a form for PayPal / Google Checkout donations would be simple and I suspect would generate revenue, since a lot of us would be happy to help cover server costs. If we were to gain a [Supporter] tag, or some other vanity, after our username upon a donation, or maybe upon pledging a recurring monthly donation, I think that would further increase donations.
Lastly, playing off simon's idea, why not have a submission form for Amazon items. I'm picturing that the items would be randomly displayed on the top right, near the "New Music On 73Q" box, and we'd rate and comment on the items. Low rated items would pop up less frequently, high rated ones more. That might actually be sort of fun, and it would keep things egalitarian.

CornOnTheCabre - 2013-04-17 sounds like a perfectly legit Gandhi review to me
|
badideasinaction - 2013-04-18 Does this mean we 1-star all Blu-ray re-releases because they're dupes?
|
Mancakes - 2013-04-17
Well since I turned adblock off for it, how is that sort of thing populated? Tracking companies extrapolating your buying habits/interests or what?
|
Jet Bin Fever - 2013-04-17
Well, that's confusing.

Vicious - 2013-04-17
It's all things that have the word "zero" in them.

Oh man, an opportunity!
As someone into similar business (roughly), I have to ask : is it worth it to send your inventory to amazon's warehouses to have them do the shipping and packaging for you for a single monthly fee? I've always wanted to ask someone who did that, but this is the first place I've seen sell stuff on amazon.com that was conversationally accessible.

Suedeo - 2013-04-17 Many items can be ordered on a "recurring subscription" basis of 1, 3, 6, 12 months, there's a small discount, an incredibly organized person can definitely leverage this feature where it would be totally worth it.
|
Suedeo - 2013-04-17
I want my business with Amazon to be between me and them and I don't want anybody to know I visit this website.

Spaceman Africa - 2013-04-17

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-04-17
I think Support is mocking us.

|
|
Old_Zircon - 2013-04-18 I think this is just a placeholder because they don't see any reason not to do all of their modifications piecemeal on the live site, and to be honest they're kind of right.
Maybe at some point the store will have something other than things with the word "zero" in them.

Hailey2006 - 2013-04-17
Half the time the only thing they're selling is wolf urine!

BiggerJ - 2013-04-17
The store's obviously in a test phase. Making sense can come later.

I liked that thing that existed way back on POE Red where instead of a generic profile, each user could link to items they thought were cool or whatever. It was very Web 1.0, but I liked it until it sort of went away.
|
BiggerJ - 2013-04-18
It's gone now. Here's a link: http://astore.amazon.com/poehosting-20
|
|
BiggerJ - 2013-04-18 Strange. I swore the link had vanished. Or maybe I just thought it had. It doesn't show up on any page other than the main page.
|
The Mothership - 2013-04-18 it's also on the hopper page, but just those two for now.
|
Hooker - 2013-04-18 No, it's also on the top viewed/favourited/rated 7 days/30 days/all time pages as well.
