According to an interview, the Oh Hello duo were inspired by this one time Kroll and Mulaney were at a store or some other establishment and they heard a couple of stereotypical old Jewish guys going on and on like this, afterwards they couldn't stop doing their impressions of these guys.

Burress is a good standup, and I've heard Kroll and Mulaney do this bit to decent effect.

This is about the most threadbare sketch idea one could come up with. And Kroll can be funny or awful in general.
