Was he yelling "Kill me"? Crazy. Poor lady.

Konversekid - 2013-05-06

Yeah, but I think only after he had already been shot once. So I'm not sure he was a suicidal crazy but probably just a normal fantasizing gun crazy.

Also, why was he pulled over? Looked at best like he was speeding or something that would have simply been obvious for the cops such as not wearing a seat belt or having a license plate.

blue vein steel - 2013-05-06

Looks like a "suicide by cop"

Shoebox Joe - 2013-05-06

Did any one else get an advertisement for Science Diet before the video?

SolRo - 2013-05-06

I'm guessing this is another false flag, right? since if he really got shot he would have been hurled backwards through a plate glass window.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-05-06

That and the cops weren't laughing while he was being riddled with bullets.

You remember Robocop, right?

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-05-06

I don't feel comfortable rating this. But holy shit, I have to. Unloading a fully automatic AK-47 in broad daylight... I'm just glad he was a shitty shot. Supposedly he had bomb making books, a ski mask, and a shitton of ammo in his possession too. A human died, which is awful, but at least he failed to take another life.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-05-06

Was there a history of his arrest record? I was curious what his background was.

Gmork - 2013-05-06

It's not the tools, it's the person behind them. This one was inept, thankfully.

EvilHomer - 2013-05-06

Every AK47 owner is a shitty shot.

Gmork - 2013-05-06

Except that's dumb and wrong and you're stupid for saying it? Oh come now, troll smarter

EvilHomer - 2013-05-06

Hey man, don't shoot the messenger!

Do you own an AK-47, Gmork? If so, I'm really very sorry; I didn't mean to imply that any of my friends are shitty shots.

I'm sure you try your best, and that's what counts! ^_^

Adham Nu'man - 2013-05-06

If only every single person went around thus armed... SIGH, I can only dream of such an idyllic world of peace.

glasseye - 2013-05-06

That was not a fully automatic firearm. Compare his fire rate to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5iCubSn4D4

The articles I read indicate the cop lost a finger, not the whole hand.

spikestoyiu - 2013-05-06

This guy was just exercising his freedom. Relax.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-05-06

That wasn't fully automatic? Yikes!

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-05-06

It's the tools, yeah. Good thing he had access to them, because... hmm...

Well, we can all rest easy that he didn't have something like a knife or maybe even a katana.

glasseye - 2013-05-06

Jet Bin Fever - Nope, semi-automatic. One pull of the trigger, one bullet fired. It looks to me like he made a few aimed shots, and then started "spraying" rapidly with little to no fire control. It could have been much worse!

HarrietTubmanPI - 2013-05-06

From what I've heard, the AK47 is not at all accurate when it's a machine gun, and if you stand as far away as she did from it you won't get hit very much. It was designed to clear a room or trench in close quarters on automatic.

I'm not defending what this asshole did, or defending automatic weapons in any way. I'm just stating that 'aim' had nothing to do with it.

godot - 2013-05-06

In my day, the serious survivalists all got HK 91s and left the Russian trash to the newbs.

glasseye - 2013-05-06

Fully automatic fire is generally not at all accurate without a rigid mount such as a heavy tripod or vehicle chassis (and even then it's iffy). This is one reason why there has been a trend in military firearms for burst-fire modes. The M16A2 doesn't even have a fully-automatic mode, only semi-automatic and three-round burst. This was motivated directly from the US military's experience in Vietnam, where fully-automatic fire was found to be very ineffective and wasteful.

But yeah, the bottom line is that the faster you fire, the worse your accuracy is, regardless of the firearm's mechanism.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-05-06

It's ineffective and wasteful if your goal is "kill that particular target" or "kill that group of targets over yonder."

If your goal is "the crowd in front of me now gets to play bullet Lotto," as long as you can keep it from shooting over their heads, it's incredibly useful.

zerdzer - 2013-05-06

fully automatic firearms are great for killing anybody at any range

they are never used in crimes in the united states

if this guy really wanted to kill a cop, he wouldn't have done what he did. a pistol at close range would have been much better for that. looks like he just wanted to suicide by cop.

regardless, this video is terrible and disturbing

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-05-07

bullet Lotto sounds like a really crappy game.

baleen - 2013-05-06

I heard an old guy bystander go "Are you ok? I have a pistol."

Every gun carrying jackass fantasizes about this moment. As if the cops were going to turn around and say, "Wait a minute, do you mean to say we're lucky enough to be getting shot at next to somebody that understands the value of the 2nd Amendment? Thank God, please provide back up immediately. Together we will defend freedom from the bad man."

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-05-06

Yeah, I heard that, too. What was he planning on doing? Waiting for a second guy to pop out of the car?

SolRo - 2013-05-06

He was going to shoot her wounds closed.

Guns fix everything.

The Mothership - 2013-05-06

Balls. poor cop lost her hand, or most of it.

Adham Nu'man - 2013-05-06

:(

spikestoyiu - 2013-05-06

I hate to describe someone who has lost a hand as being "lucky", but considering the number of bullets that came her way...

TeenerTot - 2013-05-06

If only that hand had been armed, it could have saved itself.

Ick. Poor lady.

Did anyone else hope that a looney would spray the NRA conference with bullets? Just me? OK.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-05-06

I read an article that said she had one more operation (to remove some pins) and that she was looking forward to returning to duty. I didn't get the impression she'd lost the use of her hand.

The Mothership - 2013-05-06

glad to hear that. I think I read something like 'emergency surgery to repair hand' and feared the worst.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2013-05-06

This is what Ice Cube would call a bad day.

spikestoyiu - 2013-05-06

They still had plenty of time to make a trip to Fatburger.

chumbucket - 2013-05-06

I'm pretty sure cops aren't paid enough for this bullshit.

RedRust - 2013-05-06

This is tragic.

BorrowedSolution - 2013-11-14

Fuck. Me. That was awful. I remember all you guys bawwing about the video of the georgian luger dying at the olympics; where's that outrage now?
