To me, Gorp will always be the archetypal shitty 80s sex comedy.

I just recently watched Porkies for the first time. Didn't see any quality difference between that and all the knockoffs. Was it just groundbreaking for the time or something?

It was one of the first ones to play mainstream (non drive in) theaters I believe. Also, it's allegedly based on stories the writer/director/producer collected from his friends and I believe it - there's something about it that seems a little more human. But yeah, it's not much different.

dammit. This is the movie that my friend's crappy dad showed us on vhs when we were 14. said dad passed out on the couch from beer and we drank what was left in the fridge. Thought this whole damn thing was hilarious at the time. I thought I had buried that memory deep down, but no someone has to remind me of screwballs
