A tiny bit of background:

There's this one goddam cicada sound effect that's used in pretty much every single piece of Japanese media created since the dawn of time. It represents summer. Since Japanese culture is heavily ingrained in tradition, the stock Japanese cicada sound effect has not and probably will not ever change until the far swept future when the actual insect dies out and the only thing anyone can remember is how goddam annoying it was.

That made me laugh.
