WHAT STUPID QUESTIONS TO ASK A SONTARAN. JESUS CHILDREN ARE STUPID.

Best potato.

Why I dislike the Moffat Dr Who era.

I have the opposite response to Strax, he's my favorite thing that came out of this past season. I would rather see an entire season with Strax as the Main Companion because he is actually well written and his storylines actually make sense, unlike some that have appeared in the past couple of years.

Amy Pond and Rory fucking rule. You stinking FLESHY HUMAN.

Bort - 2013-05-27

Rory was the best because they made no effort to make a Mary Sue out of him, he just quietly stepped up again and again. Amy and the Doctor had chemistry (as did Amy and Rory), but Clara ... ? Sorry, I'm just not feeling it, and could do without the Doctor being all smitten with her.

You'll be pleased to know that Arthur Darvill is currently in a show called "Broadchurch" with David Tennant and Sophie from "Peep Show" (who was coincidentally in Rory's first "Doctor Who" episode), and Karen Gillan has done a couple movies. While there are worse things than being typecast as Amy and Rory, I'd prefer them to branch out as they like.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-05-27

Hey, thanks. I've been meaning to find some new shows to watch. I haven't seen any of the newest season of Doctor Who so I don't even know who Clara is.

Rovin - 2013-05-28

I don't get the Moffat hate. Davies was a horribly incoherent storyteller with a hideous, painful sense of humor who would leave a script completely plothole riddled (Army of Ghosts/Doomsday is the prime example) in his rush to push to the big sobby-weepy scene. Moffat's era is still going for the big emotional deal, but at least he has SOME plot cleverness to back him up outside of a continual stream of deplorable jokes aimed at fat people.

Bort - 2013-06-12

I think Moffat's problem is, he rises higher than ever before, only to fall lower than ever before, to paraphrase a thing that illustrates my point. Moffat has a taste for big big stories, but is hit or miss in that territory. I am happiest when he's NOT trying to resolve the fascinating story of River Song (spoilers: she's someone who has a background) or the mystery of Clara (spoilers: it's a time thing); he shines with the characters just being themselves.

Or take the Pandorica two-parter. The first part has Moffat trying to wow us with a totally mind-blowing twist, where the various races the Doctor has fought have built a prison for their greatest enemy, who is called both a warrior and a trickster. Now who could that possibly be? Moffat structured the entire episode around the expectation that you couldn't guess. Part two, though, was much better, mostly for the little stuff: the Last Centurion (oh Rory), goofing off with the vortex manipulator, showing up at Amy's wedding, even the goofy ridiculous dancing.

What a fun thing to do for the chitlins.

sosage - 2013-05-26

One of his cousins will come back as a 1-man invasion force when we've shot our last remaining human beings up into orbit on a space arc.

Bort - 2013-05-26

He was chosen because he was the only Doctor Who monster dressed for the occasion.

Also, he can produce magnificent quantities of lactic fluids. Go on, ask him, he's kind of proud of it.

Adorable

chumbucket - 2013-05-27

And then he proceeded to eat them all.

BHWW - 2013-05-27

A character easily more appealing to me than the various leads of the revived franchise.

BiggerJ - 2017-02-03

Nerdy science fun fact: the stockiness of Sontarans implies that Sontar has stronger gravity than Earth. This would prove an in-universe explanation for the classic-series scene in which a Sontaran jumps over a chair and trips over another. They not only kept the take but added appropriate incidental music.
