There needs to be consequences for being this willfully ignorant. For every completely wrong statement asserted as fact, Fox News and its employees should be deprived of scientific advances.
I figure in a week they'll be carving their "reports" on clay tablets while praying to Moloch for their lattes.
The thing is, many who make these kind of arguments don't know what science is or what it does. I've heard some say there have been no scientific advances for years, just technological advances.
To give fair due to both ends of the political spectrum, it wasn't too long ago that Bill Maher said to Bill "Diagnose Terry Schaivo By Videotape" Frist that there hadn't been any major advances in treating cancer in the past 50 years... and Frist corrected him. How bad must one suck at science to be corrected by a Republican politician?
