Captain America is even more pretentious than Superman, but at least Cap isn't a dick.

When I watched Avengers, I related most to Captain America. He struck me as a man who really wanted to experience better movies, but was also stuck with that one.
The whole Captain America movie should have been about the emasculating USO duty.

Smart move, Hawkeye, reminding everyone how little they need an archer.
Hey - when you need a trans-dermal anti-mutagenic vaccine hypo placed with unmatched precision between the impenetrable scales of a cosmic abomination, he's your man.
Or you could just build a robot that does the same thing. Yeah, go with the robot.

This is the only good iteration of the Avengers, outside of the Ultimates pre Jeph Loeb. Despite favorable ratings/reviews/etc, Marvel cancelled the show because they wanted to capitalize on the Avengers film, so they made a whole new one with Falcon instead of Black Panther (!?!) and semi-celebrity voice actors. Good idea house of ideas!
Maybe it was for the best. It started taking a nosedive in season 2, trying to cram in the Skrull AND Kree invasions.
Then it just threw in Galactus for the finale because WHY NOT and ended up with a chump battle. He's freaking Galactus and he just came and went like a nobody in 20 minutes.
Plus it seemed like they had trouble with voice actor availability, making certain characters disappear for ten episode at a time. Never a full roster.
I'll conceed the voice actor thing, cause I really don't know the reason behind all that, but it seemed to fashion stories from the comic, so characters like BP, Thor, Ant-Man and Ms Marvel definitely had hiatuses with the team.
Beyond that though, the 2nd season was kneecapped, because they didn't have time enough to actually tell the stories that were planned out. The whole Red Skull thing was supposed to be near the end of their run, and they skillfully implimented the Skrull thing into it in order to get it wrapped up. They didn't get to have any closure with the whole Surtur storyline, because they were told they weren't going to be renewed while still in production. I think they managed quite well up until the Galactus one episode finale, but when you've got to go, it's best to at least have a finale rather than a season cliffhanger like so many other shows.
