She's dumb.

Cena_mark - 2013-07-17

Blargh! Very dumb. She comes off as your typical Fox News watching soccer mom.

Old_Zircon - 2013-07-17

A jury of his peers.

lotsmoreorcs - 2013-07-17

needs 'spaks' tag

Oscar Wildcat - 2013-07-17

The American judicial system promises you a trial judged by a body of your peers, and by god, it delivered here.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-07-17

Whoever started the idea that "peers" meant "people who think the same way you do" needs to have someone stand their ground against them.

StanleyPain - 2013-07-17

I love how the arguments of Zimmerman apologists basically break down to these constant, embarrassingly retarded contradictions:
"We can't know what went on that night, but we know for sure Zimmerman did nothing wrong."
"Zimmerman went too far without any good reasons, but he had a good reason."
"Trayvon Martin wasn't doing anything wrong, but he probably was doing something wrong."

There's some question now as to whether this might maybe result in some sort of juror misconduct investigation since the lawyers never actually answered their question on manslaughter properly or something like that, but at this point, whatever.

themilkshark - 2013-07-17

American people of all races have fear scenarios that involve young black men, and they don't consider that to be a racist act. Young black guys are scary, and Zimmerman said he was scared. It's legal to murder scary people I guess.

spikestoyiu - 2013-07-17

Chasing after someone you're scared of is universally an excellent idea.

Sanest Man Alive - 2013-07-17

Remember, a turtle can only move forward, chase down and rape something if it sticks its neck out.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-07-17

I heard either this juror or an apologist for Zimmerman say "Martin could have just walked away."

THAT'S WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN ZIMMERMAN HUNTED HIM DOWN AND KILLED HIM, YOU MORON!

StanleyPain - 2013-07-17

Oh, another thing. Note how many times this juror (and a few of the other ones who've spoken to the press" say things like "He said" and "His story" and "Zimmerman said." Zimmerman never testified and the only thing even remotely approaching testimony presented in the trial was his police statement and the pre-recorded video walkthroughs of the crime scene. So, it's nice that these people think that's the same thing as submitting to court examination, but don't act like you're "quoting" him or something.

Binro the Heretic - 2013-07-17

I wonder if Zimmerman would have been suspicious of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev if he'd seen him walking through the neighborhood?

You know, young guy in a hoody, carrying a big bag...

Oscar Wildcat - 2013-07-17

Yet he would have missed John Wilkes Boothe entirely, what with the tophat and evening coat. I mean, apart from the fact that he wasn't a nigger.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-07-17

Can someone help me out here? Am I being paranoid or is her crying at the 30:00 forced as hell?

Seriously. I want to break her fucking jaw every time I hear her cry.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-07-17

No seriously. The black person was overwhelmed because of her education and the way she talked?

pyslexic dharmacist - 2013-07-17

I was on the jury for a murder 2 case, along with a handful of people who kept saying things like "well, he just *seems* guilty of *something*!" Luckily it was only about an hour of another guy and I repeatedly trying to explain the concepts of "reasonable doubt," "burden of proof," and "innocent until proven guilty" in increasingly simplistic terms before they finally understood that you don't convict people on gut feelings. There was no evidence, no weapon, only someone who thought she saw the guy near the scene. And some of these yokels would have put him away for god only knows how many decades.

The jury was pretty mixed, but yes, the defendant was a black guy.

jangbones - 2013-07-18

I was on a six member jury in a personal injury case. The trial was textbook but it was obiously there was some acrimony and gamesmanship going on between the prosecutor and the defendent's lawyer, a little sniping.

We found the defendent guilty.

They polled the jury, which exposed that one of our members was batshit insane with her own theories on everything. After she blathered on about her own idiotic theories and bullshit for a few minutes, the prosecutor stood to face the defense attorney and said "see, this is why I hate to poll juries."

At least is got a laugh in the courtroom.

Mister Yuck - 2013-07-18

So the knock-knock joke didn't get any laughs because no one in the jury could understand the punchline, not because they thought it was tasteless.
