As a young teenager I had no idea that this was John Water's only PG rated film. I only knew him as the guy who directed X-rated films like Pink Flamingos. I was very, VERY confused when my mom asked if I wanted to rent this movie and watch it with her and my dad got mad at me for saying no since she was just trying to spend time and bond with.

We did end up watching it years later.

It didn't dawn on me as a kid that Debbie Harry was in this film. I knew she looked strangely familiar, but now it all makes sense. I should see it again some time.
