"We're in a new era here."

Well, that's what you get for respecting musicians. Maybe next time you'll know better.

You know what's funny? When a factory worker, let's say, outlives his business model's economic viability, what happens? Simple. He gets his ass replaced by robots and has to either go find a new job, or him and his kids starve to death.

But when a millionaire record executive outlives his business model's economic viability, what happens? Well, he redefines copyright laws and twists the definition of property in ways that are ethically and philosophically indefensible, all so him and his lawyers can beat up on children and mush-mouthed music nerds.

Dushbags.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-08-18

I can't think of a supertramp song that doesn't suck ass.

baleen - 2013-08-18

What kind of dushbeg are you? Are you one of those dushes that listens to Radiohand?

WitlessJ - 2013-08-18

Total dishbeg.

MyNameIsUnimportant - 2013-08-18

Watch what you say. They'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, a fanatical criminal.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-08-19

You really need to listen to more Supertramp. They have a couple really good albums.

WitlessJ - 2013-08-18

"...no one is making money off this"... um... I'm pretty sure youtube makes money off your content.

Boomer The Dog - 2013-08-18

Good, I'm glad that someone is standing up about this stuff, maybe they can't stop newsgroups, bit torrents with movie and music downloads, so they take that anger out in any way they can, even on people's home videos.

This does relate to me, I'm a fan of Norman Dog, a Briard who rides a scooter, and he also is one of the Dog team on a show called Who Let The Dogs Out about Dog performance.

Well, Norman went for a 'Genius' Book record for longest, fastest scooter run, and I put on my Dog costume, got my scooter out and made a response video.

I used some old track from like 1961 that was circus music, and got hit by some music group, the video could be seen but it was banned in some countries.

Apparently if your video is flagged that way, it can still be seen on your channel if someone visits, or if they search on the topic, but it's not syndicated or sent out to subscribers, and others can't remix it, and there are possibly other restrictions, where I might have had many more people seeing it.

I agree with that guy, music groups, they're dustbags, especially Prince! To be fair there's lots of music on Youtube, but why not let all of it alone, then when someone's video breaks out commercially, goes on TV or whatever, then the music can be licensed and they'll get money..

I do dig Supertramp, In The Quietest Moments though, if you think they're all about Logical Song, and Dreamer go back, way back, if you're into prog rock!

Standing up about what exactly?

I don't understand anything you're saying but I do know this- but someone, somewhere basically paid to post some shitty video of you in a dog costume. To pay for bandwith, employees, whatever, said company sold advertising. Naturally they're liable for perceived copyright infringement. The band probably has an issue with youtube, not you personally. But even if they did, whatever, it's their content.

A good analog would be a TV show- the network pays producers, writers, actors by selling ad space. Are they free to use whatever intellectual property they want in to get this revenue?

Maybe this isn't the best system for engendering artistic creativity but, hey, playing a shitty track over "Norman" or whoever on a scooter is a far cry from a Brandenburg concerto.

EvilHomer - 2013-08-18

Hey Boomer, how many other Dogs are there? Is there a whole community of you guys? I remember your border collie friend from PoeRed (Hobnose, right? How's he doing?) and you mentioned a couple others in video comments before. And now Norman Dog and a whole Dog team, which I'm assuming performs Dog-people related entertainment?

EvilHomer - 2013-08-18

Oh, shit, nevermind, I just looked up Norman Scooterdog, and he's an ACTUAL dog.

Boomer The Dog - 2013-08-18

Hi Homer, it would be fun if there were more Dogs doing fun things. I'm not sure what Hobnose Bordercollie is doing lately, we haven't been in touch for about 6 months.

Hobnose wanted to change her name too, and Hob lives in Indiana, which is supposed to be a better state for name change, but there were money and other issues.

Ric is my Sheepdog buddy and best friend. He has strikingly similar origins to me, but isn't out in public being a Dog.

Here's my scooter Dog video.

I got really into Norman's feat with the world record and got all excited and wanted to do a scooter video also! I'm an actual Dog too, just not on four feet.

Stars for this. Whaaaat the fuuuuuuuuck!?

Gmork - 2013-08-19

WHOSAGOODBOY?

EvilHomer - 2013-08-19

Oh yeah! I've seen you riding that scooter before! I even made some Boomer the Dog fanart awhile back of you on a scooter. I had no idea that was a tribute to a doggie celebrity.

Boomer The Dog - 2013-08-21

Hi Homer, I'm glad that you had seen that scooter video! I was so taken with Norman's feat and watching many videos that I wanted to make one. I have 3 scooters, I don't always use them but I like to ride.

See, that's why I barked that you need a Evil Homer web page, maybe you could use one of the free hosts so that any other identity isn't connected, and post all of this cool stuff! I'd like to see your fan art if you are able to show it.

I post my boomerthedog.net site and then people can see a little more about me and what I'm up to currently.. :)

WitlessJ, it's good to think about the real rights of others, but I'm pretty much in agreement with the feelings of this guy about his video being banned.

Boomer

Doosbags.

There needs to be antibands. Bands that mock other bands' songs, changing the lyrics to how much that band sucks, but not in a general Anal Cunt way, specifically, album by album, mirroring that band's career.
