Well, so be it. It's undeniably well done, but I just stopped caring.

I don't find it dark and dreary so much as grounds for reflection. The basic question of the show is, what would you do in order to survive? I like to think that I've got some tremendous reservoir of principle in me such that I couldn't kill to save my own life, but the truth is, I'm pretty much untested, and there's nothing less reliable than principles that haven't been put to the test. Yet I know I've got primate instincts in me, so maybe I'd pick up a thigh bone and smash the other guy's skull.

Walt's got other problems beyond mere survival, such as pride that can never be satisfied. Not a huge issue for me, so I'd be more likely to take an "out" when one presented itself. But beyond a certain point, is there even such a thing as an "out"? Even bathroom literature can pull you back in.

Gotta wonder how much sense "Breaking Bad" even makes in countries where health care is considered a right rather than a luxury for the privileged. Oh well, January 2014 is on its way, and hopefully the Walter Whites will start being able to get the coverage they need.

I also stopped about party-way through season 2. I fell a bit behind, have friends who won't shut up about it who started spoiling things and/or watching over my shoulder saying "OOO THIS IS THE BEST PART NO WAIT THIS IS THE BEST PART JUST WATCH THIS PART OOO WASN'T THAT GREAT THIS SHOW IS SO GENIUS YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE NEXT SEASON" etc.

I'll probably pick it up again about 2 years after it's over and cut through the whole thing in a few weeks.

That's what I did, I ignored the entirety of the show until two weeks ago, and then watched the whole thing in about a weekend. Looking forward to the next episodes.

I'm with you on this JHMF. I can see that it's well done, but I don't have the patience to watch Walt shit on the lives of everyone he knows for an hour at a time. I started season three before I gave up.

Actually, I guess i watched further than I thought, because I remember her.. She was the part where I stated to lose interest. I didn't like her at all, but I can see why you'd think I would. Because you're an idiot.

The way i remember it now is that when she started showing up, I fast forwarded to the mid-air collision at the end of what i guess must be season 3, and that was it for me. I kept thinking that I should force myself to keep watching, and then I just stopped thinking that.

4chan, that great pit of male awfulness took her identity, and she took it back, without ever getting angry about it, at least publicly. Never in my life have I seen anyone take so much shit with so much grace. She's a hero to me, and an object lesson on how to survive the web with digniity for anyone who needs one, and I suspect that we all do.

I never watched more than a few seconds of her first videos, but I have seen some of her recent videos. In the snippets I have watched, I see an incredibly lonely, awkward girl trying to come to terms with the reality that regular people don't care about her "internet fame." Beyond people who say nasty things on the internet, there's the people who just-don't-care, and I think that hurts someone like boxxy more than negative attention. To me, that is very depressing, which is probably why I don't understand her appeal. Then again, I could totally be reading waaaay too much into this. Can you share some insight?
