Am I a super-pansy, or does it all seem kind of dirty? Like, how are grains of sand and dirt not getting into their food?

gravelstudios - 2013-08-21

They are getting in. I just read that in ancient Egypt, the bread contained so much sand that it wore the average person's teeth down to nubs by the time they were about 30. I can't imagine this is too different. Worrying about eating dirt is a luxury most of the world can't afford.

It looks pretty clean to me.
There are no sand storms in Armenia.

Points taken.

I know I'm a spoiled first-worlder, but it seems like working from a simple table would help keep dirt and such from drifting into your food.

I've seen plenty of videos of people cooking food in the 3rd world, and they always seem to do it on the ground.

I guess I'm being insensitive, but it doesn't seem like a simple table would be that tough to acquire, even in the 3rd world.

Crap, meant that as a reply to the conversation above it. Oh well.
