Do they mention the fact that the NFL is technically a 5013c? Yep, the bazillion-dollar machine, thanks to some clever loopholes, is a CHARITY.

Fuck the NFL.

jangbones - 2013-10-12

The NFL is cheap as hell, gouging their employees mercilessly

Also, one of their most significant sources of revenue for the past three decades has been looting state, city, and county municipalities by getting them to build giant stadiums...accomplishing this by crying poor, threatening to move, and touting false economic benefits

Nikon - 2013-10-12

Indeed, fuck the NFL.

RocketBlender - 2013-10-12

It's honestly amazing what people can get away with because FOOTBALL!!

Players often get a bad rep for legal leniency, but they've still got it rough compared to the people actually running the show, the names most people don't even know.

Oscar Wildcat - 2013-10-12

I had to google around on that to convince myself you weren't just pulling our legs, SPK. Unbelievable.

NCAA is also a 501(3)c. It's TV contracts are for like 11 billion alone.

The figure that blew me away from League of Denial is that ESPN pays roughly 120 million PER GAME for its NFL broadcast contract. Per fucking game.

Good things about football;

Offers an opportunity for competition free from class, race, and other distinctions

Teaches discipline and structure, frequently to kids that have little or none

Your work and effort is rewarded directly...if you work your ass off to gain 20lbs of muscle, you will see the impact immediately

The social and networking opportunity is great

Its popular, so if you play for a good program, people will appreciate your effort and know who you are

It's a rush to play, just exhilirating and damn fun

Jim Marshall once said "football is a great stage from which to view life", a quote I always admired

RocketBlender - 2013-10-12

Every sport has plenty of positives, and unfortunately, just as many of them have similarly morally bankrupt management.

Errr...make like you'll see the benefits of gaining 20 lbs. of muscle very slowly and gradually over the course of an entire year or more it would take to put that on.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2013-10-12

20lbs of muscle gain with the help of steroids otherwise you're looking at years of gaining that naturally.

simon666 - 2013-10-12

SHV: Not quite right. I was able to put on 18 pounds of muscle in about eight months with a consistent workout and diet every week. I was gaining roughly 2-3 pounds a month. The diet is key. I was eating a minimum of 100g protein each day and my daily caloric intake was around 5000-6000 a day.

My favorite thing about the new rules was the blowup by conservative d-bags about how it's a LIBERAL attempt to ruin the game. Colbert had a great bit on it at the first part of this clip:

(sorry US people only, I think, but the rest of you don't care about American Football anyway)

Also, I plan on using "think meat" as much as possible.

Shoot. I was hoping this would be another League of Legends slam video.

Now to spruce up this comment with a confession: I once got a blowjob while playing a game of LoL. The (ex) girlfriend hated the game, but it was my birthday and it seemed appropriate given the eyerolling favor she asked for her birthday.

What seemed awesome at the time (blowjobs DURING videogames!) now seems like a source of shame and signs of an unhealthy relationship.

BorrowedSolution - 2013-10-13

Fascinating. Truly.

That was a very random comment
