Are raves still a thing? Glad to know you have to buy a bunch of brand name stuff now before going to an abandoned papermill and passing out from whippet hits.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2013-10-09

Ecstasy is still a thing

Old_Zircon - 2013-10-09

The Hippie Mafia will fuck you up if you do that.

Pope Caius - 2013-10-10

I happen to know a hot raver chick in real life, so yes. Which makes it remarkably difficult to hate on this too much.

EvilHomer - 2013-10-10

I'm with Pope Caius on this one. Papal infallibility and all that.

Old_Zircon - 2013-10-10

Knowing someone who is actually into raves should make you hate this even more, since it's like the Christmas Tree Shops of rave clothes.

I mean, most of the full on, flamboyantly dressed all the time, makeup wearing goths I've met were pretty great people but that's not going to stop me from making fun of Internet goths any more than knowing someone who lived with Juggalo foster parents in high school and swears they were some of the best parents she's ever seen (despite her hating ICP) is going to make me stop making fun of Internet juggalos.

baleen - 2013-10-09

It breaks my heart to see early 90's rave clothing (and the fucking music) coming back in style. It's all over Portland. It's the ugliest, tackiest shit ever made. I hated it then and I hate it now.

Old_Zircon - 2013-10-09

Some of that stuff is pretty awesome in retrospect, but this is the rave equivalent of the shittiest parts of the early 80s 50s-retro fad.

La Loco - 2013-10-09

Just a few weeks ago I was in Brooklyn and saw guys dressed in 90's raver wear. They couldn't have been older then twenty one. They were discussing what their favorite techno music meant to them opposed to the culture that listens to it in europe.

Spaceman Africa - 2013-10-09

I bet they're not even playing Altern-8 or The Prodigy tracks.

EvilHomer - 2013-10-10

Portland is wasted on you, baleen.

baleen - 2013-10-10

I am wasted in Portland.

cognitivedissonance - 2013-10-10

I've got a few customers who are about 18-19 and REALLY into rave music. They both look like little kids smoking furiously to appear older. One of them showed up one day with a full sleeve tattoo of a vampire skull wearing an Indian headdress.

They stopped coming around when I stopped selling singles.

STABFACE - 2013-10-09

I can't tell if those are their stage names or actual birth names and now I'm sad.

Screwtape - 2013-10-09

The accessories are the exact same stuff thats in the dress up box at our daycare.

Konversekid - 2013-10-09

It looks like you need to be high to even promote rave wear.

ashtar. - 2013-10-10

The blonde is just amazingly, uniquely unattractive for someone with a decent body/face. It's... uncanny.

sosage - 2013-10-10

Green is not a creative color...

1394 - 2013-10-10

More like how to dress like a fucking Northerner.

freedoom - 2013-10-10

so if i ever go to a rave i need to wear fuzzy leg warmers and a tutu, got it.

Syd Midnight - 2013-10-15

I'm forwarding this to my ex-raver sister because I know she'll go "OMG" and seethe with hatred at this video, but I don't know exactly why yet.
