Teamwork

fatatty - 2013-10-22

Was just about to say that.

Adham Nu'man - 2013-10-22

Definitely needs the teamwork tag.

takewithfood - 2013-10-21

Oscar Wildcat - 2013-10-21

Counterpoint: People attacking a wild boar.

baleen - 2013-10-21

Pigs are cute when domesticated but they are horrible animals that ruin the lives of other animals, even cute endangered ones, and destroy ecosystems. They would eat your face for a snack. I love bacon.

Oscar Wildcat - 2013-10-21

My neighbor down the road raises pigs, and she's not too careful about keeping them corralled. A few weeks ago I was walking down the same and this enormous hog came ambling out of the bushes, and starting rooting around another neighbors new landscaping. I could see my neighbors wife looking forlorn as she walked up her driveway, and we considered the situation.

It's hard to move 200+ pounds of animal, but I found with a little friendly coaxing I could get the pig moving. However, as soon as she would perceive the direction we were heading, she'd bump off with her snot pointed to the ground and no longer take direction. More coaxing, and then another 10-20 feet.

Eventually, her husband and a few workers showed up to join the festivities. They tried buffalo-ing the hog, which worked about as well as you'd expect. Yards were lost, and chuckling, I bid them a fond farewell.

Hogs are funny animals. Frankly, they are nightmarishly ugly up close. I'd not like to face an angry wild one. But sad to say it's almost always the humans that initiate these sorts of interactions.

baleen - 2013-10-21

Hogs are notoriously aggressive, some breeds even attacking those who routinely feed them.

They will also attack and kill pets and livestock, and the incidents are rising. Some of the bigger, newer breeds that are escaping are likely contributing to the giant trophies being claimed like Hogzilla and the monster that kid shot in Alabama. (http://www.foxnews.com/story/2007/05/26/alabama-boy-kills-1051-po und-monster-pig-bigger-than-hogzilla/) I can't imagine seeing something like this in the wild.

On another note, I'm going to try my hand at ordering a whole pig and cooking it in the traditional barbecoa method in a coal pit before it gets too cold!

Thanks for a great link baleen

In one of my earliest expeditions in Costa Rica I was going into one of the Indian reserves, so I asked our native guide what was the most dangerous animal in the jungle and his answer was "El Chancho de Monte" (The Pig of the Mountain), which sounded absolutely ridiculous and hilarious, but it's true.
I was face to face with a small one and it made a loud noise like a chainsaw and fortunately I managed to scare it off, but it was quite frightening. They often come in packs and can be much larger than the one I met.
What Baleen says is true, they'll destroy whole ecosystems. UNESCO World Heritage Site Cocos Island was visited by Pirates back in the day, who brought pigs. Now the Government pays the park rangers to shoot the fuckers down because they are a plague.

Oscar Wildcat - 2013-10-22

@baleen: If you make good on your threat, you may well end up driving down my road to purchase that pig! Usually it's the chinese, as they have the money and the massive family necessary to polish off a whole hog in one meal ( I mean, you are talking a shit load of meat here ). Do stop by, we're the house buried in roses. You can't miss us.

Also, don't you go to jew Hell for this?

baleen - 2013-10-21

Somebody buy that fucking guy a case of vodka.

pyslexic dharmacist - 2013-10-23

Anyone who approaches a wild boar has probably had enough already.

sosage - 2013-10-21

So was the dog a collateral fatality in this ongoing Humans vs. Swine war? Are dogs truly our allies?

bac - 2013-10-21

This video is amazing.

Old People - 2013-10-22

One of the all-time greats.

Adham Nu'man - 2013-10-22

People in Russia tend to be very stoic, independent, not very sociable. But now and then, just now and then... The community just spontaneously comes together and murders an animal.

Heartwarming.

Tough American Bouncer - 2013-10-22

Best of the best.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-10-22

Lessons were learned.

Pillager - 2013-10-22

That wasn't a kitchen sink. That was the improvised jock strap/wheelbarrow he uses to carry his gigantic, massive balls around in.

memedumpster - 2013-10-22

Du-dunt-duh-duh-dunt... dunt-dunt!

chumbucket - 2013-10-22

This comment had me laughing for about 20 minutes. I'll never understand why.

Xenagama Warrior Princess - 2013-10-22

Dinner's served.

Gmork - 2013-10-22

Wow, that really just happened. I like piggies, but that boar seemed dangerous, and there was a yap-yap dog around.

Bisekrankas - 2013-11-07
