F. Paul Wilson's novel was better.

Yup.

It was until he ruined it by ret-conning it into his lame-ass Repairman Jack series, which also ruined The Touch and The Tomb.

Awesome concept, hilarious execution. Pure MST3K material.

I love this movie. Never been released on DVD, though a surprisingly good quality master showed up on Netflix for about a year then mysteriously disappeared.

There's a pretty good DVD-R boot of the laserdisc out in torrent land, too.

Oh, I also have the bootleg soundtrack for this if anyone is interested.
(No, not the Tangerine Dream album called "The Keep" which, oddly has almost no music from the movie, but rather a relatively decent quality bootleg of actual tracks from the film, most of which are studio versions, not just lifted from the audio of the film)

Oh, and also also....there is a clip of the original ending to the film here that is slightly more accurate to the book (though the movie in general isn't a particularly strong adaptation of the book anyway)

Sir Ian's accent is pure gold.

A rifftrax of this would be awesome but apparently Mann is keeping it from release on DVD.

This was one of the movies I would nominate for rental whenever we couldn't get a new release at the video store.
