So.... am I supposed to like daredevil? Hard to tell based on this particular clip.

Nikon - 2013-11-03

Eight ball says no.

The blind rapist. Actually a pretty good idea for a mini-series.

Adham Nu'man - 2013-11-03

Although the playground thing was a bit of a missed opportunity. As he passed by, and then he sniffs something, he should have turned towards the camera and gone "hmmmm, children".

Prickly Pete - 2013-11-03

Wow that was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Some of those moves looked like some straight up Power Rangers shit. The back flips and the poses were reminiscent of Mortal Kombat. Tho judging from the "How Did This Get Made?" podcast, "Catwoman" had some pretty unbelievable scenes as well.

And is her name "Elektra Nachos"? Sounds like something you'd get at Taco Bell.

Bort - 2013-11-03

"Elektra Natchios" -- she's Greek.

The Catwoman movie has a nearly identical scene, except it's Barry and Benjamin Bratt playing basketball. Otherwise, the same ton of absurd wirework, heavy breathing, and children seemingly cheering on something else that's happening out of frame.

I've never managed to sit through the first five minutes of Daredevil. I had no idea this scene existed. It's wonderful.

Koda Maja - 2013-11-03

Speaking of How Did This Get Made?, they're doing Daredevil next week.

Hooker - 2013-11-03

Didn't they already do Daredevil?

Koda Maja - 2013-11-03

No, but Rifftrax has.

Nikon - 2013-11-03

I liked the Daredevil/Electra romance in the comic book, but this movie is a shitacular trainwreck.

Ladies and gentlemen, your next Batman

Binro the Heretic - 2013-11-03

Fuck all of you, I loved the Hell out of this movie.

No, I never read any Daredevil comics. I was strictly a Hulk, Spiderman, Batman fan with a bit of X-Men here and there.

Bort - 2013-11-03

This movie is strange in that it opts to show the hero after his career has already started -- at the beginning he's already covered in scars and is losing teeth. Personally I'm a fan of the origin stories, they help the audience identify with the protagonist and additionally understand why he would make crime-fighting his hobby. In non-superhero movies the protagghn has some choice but it is limited; for superheroes, though, there is always the choice to just quit, and I like seeing why they choose not to. But this movie skimped on that part.

Hey, it's been like a decade since I saw this, so can you clarify: what exactly is Matt Murdock's job? I recall a courtroom scene (a rape trial, I think) where Murdock was questioning the defendant; so that would make him a prosecutor, wouldn't it? Unless it's a civil trial, but I thought rape was a criminal offense? My God, I think I just found a hole in a superhero movie.

Nikon - 2013-11-03

He was a defense attorney. Unlike in this awful turdburglar of a movie, for the most part he used less-than-lethal force to defeat his foes.

Nominal - 2020-09-01

The movie couldn't decide if he was a prosecutor or defender. He was prosecuting in the rape trial scene, yet they go on to show all his thankful poor underdog clients paying him with goods and favors. Bwuh?

BHWW - 2013-11-03

A blind guy pulling off all of these moves which require a lot of coordination, I won't make her or anyone else suspicious by doing this at all.

pyslexic dharmacist - 2013-11-03

This scene was a Matrix parody, right?

bac - 2013-11-03

In the introduction to the man without fear Frank Miller said one of the reasons he always liked Daredevil was because it's amazing he's not a villain.

Matt Murdock would shove an old lady in front of a bus if he had seen this movie.

This movie also had one of the most pointless and meaningless origin alterations since the first Batman movie (1989). Instead of young Matt Murdock saving somebody and getting blinded as a result. He instead is running away like a whiny dumbass and causes an industrial/workplace accident.

dockilljoy - 2013-11-04

Is his suit really lame? I feel like that is not a cool suit, even for a person just trying to lay low as a lawyer. Maybe that's what early 2000s fashion was about.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-11-04

Thank god that no actual blind people can watch this movie.
