NO CONDOM NATION

FAITH HALL OF FAME

HEY, YOU, THERE. YEAH, YOU WITH THE PTSD:

STOP IT. STOP THAT.

eatenmyeyes - 2013-11-16

What's the over/under for how long it would take for me to give them PTSD?

il fiore bel - 2013-11-16

How soon can you get them recruited in the military and drop them off in a middle eastern country?

memedumpster - 2013-11-15

What everyone else calls PTSD, Christians call childhood upbringing in the church. I can see why they don't understand this condition suddenly manifesting in adults.

jreid - 2013-11-15

Is it unhealthy to want to choke these people to death? Slowly.

TheOtherCapnS - 2013-11-15

Please tell us more about "battle guys" and PTSD, men who have never come close and would under no circumstances serve in the military (yet would gleefully send younger men to their deaths by the score)

I like to think that the reason they think "guilt" is what causes PTSD is not ignorance, but projected guilt of their own. I want to believe that even though it may be chained up and locked away in the dank basements of their souls, these guys have consciences and know that they are charlatans and hucksters of the worst kind.

I'm a little torn here. On the one hand, it's not as insane as it sounds. Yes, yes, the Bible, hahaha, but the fact is that a lot of vets take comfort in religion. Even if it's not *materially true* that the Bible has anything to say about PTSD, if something like this can improve a patient's quality of life, I say go for it!

On the other hand, they're focusing entirely on guilt, and that's wrong. Guilt is often a major issue for veterans with PTSD, but guilt is not the root cause of trauma symptoms. Addressing guilt alone misses the whole point of PTSD. A second, more serious issue, is that these two are steering dangerously close to the "suck it up and stop whining" school of thought. That sort of mentality isn't very helpful at all, and ironically enough, is often a main source of guilt for trauma patients!

If religion helps some people with PTSD that's cool, but they shouldn't be listening to these callous assholes.
Why are they on a TV show when the Bible doesn't mention TV? They shouldn't believe TV exists.

Being right for the wrong reasons < Being wrong for the right reasons.

These guys are wrong, for the wrong reasons.

il fiore bel - 2013-11-16

So, if God tells you to blow up an innocent child who had an enemy's bomb strapped to her chest, there's no reason to feel any guilt?

AWESOME!

Yes: in this you must hand them a victory. The god of the old testament is a sociopath; he kills without remorse and commits atrocities that would make Saddam Hussein blush. I like these two guys, they are very honest and open about what is actually in the bible and how it prescribes we live our lives.

I'm surprised this guy could read.
