Whenever I hear someone complaining, with anger in their voice, about someone not working/being unemployed, etc, I just have to stop and laugh. Take pride in that shit job all you want, pops. It's a shit job and you know it. You're pushing them to find shit jobs so they can go to TAFE and get a slightly better paying shit job.

I have worked hard in my life. My mom passed away before I was 21, and I had to make it on my own. I've held many soul-destroying retail jobs in the years following her death.

You'll become a man right quick if you have to spend your nights outside. Or you'll die of exposure. My case is not typical. Lots of people stay homeless, for good. I made it back to the world, I have a house and a garden and I have someone to love. I am very, very thankful.

A retail job did not do any of that for me. I dug myself out of that hole, and made something out of the ruins of my former life. If any of you are ever in the east bay area of northern california, stop by and you can try some of my famous Impanadas(tm).

Seems like I'm an okay cook after all.
