Do they come with rockets?

I ended up ordering a Blendtec. They're having a sale on refurbished units, and they have the same 7 year warranty as brand new ones. I considered Ninja, but I heard some people say that Ninja blenders just won't do some of the things I want to do with a blender, so I decided to splurge as a Christmas present to myself.

You guys really know your blenders. I have a blender I got from the Salvation Army for about a dollar that was probably made in 1975 or so. It works pretty well too.

Everyone raves about Blendtec but the only person I know who owns one (a retire food service manager with over 25 years of industrial blender experience) had the motor burn out in about 3 weeks, and they're absurdly loud (notice that in actual commerical use they're put inside a soundproof box?).

I'm unconvinced that a mid level commercial blender like a Bendtec is actually worth the extra cost.

But then I've got a 1962 or 63 Waring commercial blender that was USED TO GRIND ROCKS IN A UNIVERSITY LAB for most of the 60s and it's still going strong despite never so much as having the brushes in the motor replaced, so I'm a bit spoiled.

Also it was free.

Anyhow, I think the difference between a 0 blender and a 0 blender is probably much less than the difference between that 0 blender and a serious commercial kitchen blender (blendtec seems to be more of a smoothie bar/coffee shop blender than a kitchen blender, really) but mostly from personal experience, so it could be that the few of them I've used were maybe defective or something.

I eat apples and stuff.

@OZ. I'll let you know what I think when it arrives. I use my blender a lot, and I've gone through several cheap ones, so I just got fed up with it. I figure, with a 7 year warranty, I can just return it if it dies.

Actually I misremembered, it was a Vitamix that burned out, the Blendtec works great.

I've got a Ninja blender, it blends things well. It's about the least expensive blender I've seen that can turn ice cubes into snow; makes smoothies just fine too.

Infinitely more important is the Ninja 3-in-1 cooking system, which is basically a crock pot that can also fast cook like on a stove top, or even bake like an oven. I got mine a few weeks ago and I have probably used it every single day since. A nice big cooking vessel with a nonstick interior, that can hit any temperature from "food warmer" to 425 F ... it's got uses aplenty, from soup to hash browns to hash brown soup.

If you have a good blender and the attachments for it, it actually works great and saves you some physical labor. I've done it a couple times.
