Oh yes yes a thousand times yes. This guy needs kinect monitoring his potty mouth ALL of the time. Maybe he'd try a little harder to be funny then.

infinite zest - 2013-12-03

I think it's healthy that they're doing this: it's one thing if you're playing GTA and every other word is "fuck," but this is a G rated game. Back in the day I could put "ASS" or "CUM" or "FUK" into the arcade machines and it'd change it back to "CAP," "SNK," obviously I'm showing my age.

I was working at a house for developmentally disabled kids back in the day and they were really obsessed with Halo. The number of times I heard "retard," "faggot".. you name it, yelled at these kids pissed me off. The whole "they'll learn it in recess" paradigm was shifted when adults could start swearing at little kids in the comfort of their own home.

So fuck this guy- go to the nearest elementary school and see how well your plays out there.

but five stars for evil

Also go Blazers!

SolRo - 2013-12-03

Anything that cleans up voice chat is a plus.

It's universally so bad that I turn it off in any game that has the option.

badideasinaction - 2013-12-03

I had voice unmuted for about five minutes on GTA online. One guy was literally only screaming the word "nigger", and I mean literally in the classic sense - he was activating the "threaten the store clerk" mode by screaming NIGGERNIGGERNIGGERNIGGERNIGGER.

On the other hand, if this isn't a game where he's chatting online, that's kinda dumb, but I'm still kinda okay with it.

EvilHomer - 2013-12-03

Yeah, I've been called a faggot and a nigger on GTA:O so many times I've lost count. Of course, that may be because I'm usually spawn camping the youngest-sounding players on the server with my tank.

25:1 Kill-to-Death ratio and climbing!

StanleyPain - 2013-12-03

It's funny that the game does this, but faked, "dubbed in my 'funny' comments later" yt videos from AVGN wanna bes are not funny.

Kabbage - 2013-12-03

Yeah, no argument here. It was this, or the full thing, which is a nightmare.

sasazuka - 2013-12-03

I'd sort of agree with the guy, maybe the game should offer an adult-language-only area where they could connect to other strangers interested in swearing like drunk sailors, and if you're playing with friends you should definitely have the option to turn off the language-filter, but, if you're playing online with random people, not everyone wants to hear an unending stream of F-bombs. I'm almost 40 and I wouldn't want to play online with anyone that swears more than occasionally.

MyNameIsUnimportant - 2013-12-03

"fuckin' ridiculous scenarios"

Call technical due to bad language.

"FUCK YOU, KINECT!"

Second foul.

"WHAT IS THIS FUCKING BULLSHIT?"

I've got you for two weeks, Bender. You wanna keep going?

That guy - 2013-12-03

You made me go watch this:

EvilHomer - 2013-12-04

I was thinking this:

EvilHomer - 2013-12-03

Serves you right for buying an Xbox, fucker.

I'm with him, though - there's no excuse for Microsoft playing the language-police. Sasazuke's idea for an optional filter area would be an acceptable compromise, but I'll be fucked if I let some corporate assholes tell me when I can and can't swear at a child.

RocketBlender - 2013-12-03

Oh man, imagine this in a Call of Duty game.

Prickly Pete - 2013-12-04

I don't think the military has technical fouls.

boner - 2013-12-04

It should refuse to let you play until you get a haircut.

Xenagama Warrior Princess - 2013-12-04

Two words: Mario Kart.

Imagine the WiiU implementing this restriction for Mario Kart.

memedumpster - 2013-12-03

I think for online games the hard drive should erase itself and the console brick at the use of racial slurs. I would watch every video of that I could. And fap. Fuck it, I'd clop.

EvilHomer - 2013-12-04

I'd be OK with this on the condition that the Xbone brick itself upon detecting *anything* that Microsoft sees as not being in it's own corporate interest. Like, if the Kinect spots you using Firefox instead of IE, or detects the presence of an iPod in the room. Maybe they could brick themselves if they detect any criticism of Microsoft, or notice a "blacklist" of terms dynamically updated by Microsoft's PR team (such as "antitrust" or "Chinese sweatshops"). They could put in streaming advertisements (commercial break every ten minutes, thirty minutes with special XBox Live GOLD PLAN) and then brick their system if the Kinect notices you're not actually watching these ads. Hell, Microsoft could even start taking donations from politicians, and the ones who don't pay enough, they'd be placed on a shit list and their supporters would have a few days to plaster their apartments with Microsoft-approved political signs or else, you guessed it, brick tiem lol!

Why stop at swearing? Microsoft could censor all kinds of things for our amusement!

memedumpster - 2013-12-04

So, you'd be okay with my idea for making the world a better place so long as it's extended to making the world a shittier place?

Gamer.

memedumpster - 2013-12-04

No wait, I'm stupid, that's actually a fantastic idea!

Kabbage - 2013-12-04

hehe

RocketBlender - 2013-12-03

Watching this a second time, I just noticed the "Unrecognized Command" in the corner as he shouts "Fuck you Kinect!" Five invisistars for the console having the perfect smart-ass comeback.

Sanest Man Alive - 2013-12-05

That retort is really the best part.

Also, what's with everyone on this page wanting to crucify this idiot just for fuckin' bad language? He bought an XBone at launch, I think that's penalty enough.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-12-07

I bet this thing will be more parental for some kids than their own parents.
