Okay, I'm riveted.

It's on Netflix, if anyone's interested. I could try and submit a YT version as well.

I just watched it on YouTube. That was pretty amazing. I don't believe anyone's story, but there were old men drinking, laughing, and fishing, so there's that.

The full documentary is in the hopper now, but wouldn't you know it, the multipart isn't working.

Does anyone know if there's an official slang term for North Korean cinema? There's Bollywood, Nollywood, so... Commywood? Kimilsungywood? What is it/ should it be called?

I'm just going to go with Hannywood in the South and Kimmywood in the North

Uhh, guys...

Pyongywood

The slang term for North Korean cinema is "both of them".

I watched this a while back on Netflix. The trailer is misleading in one sense: the tone of the documentary isn't so much "secrets uncovered" as it is an exploration of what kind of men would voluntarily (sort of) live in North Korea for that long. But it was a fascinating documentary, and well worth watching.

By the way, the dude who remained in North Korea comes off as a shitheel of the highest order.

We had this at a film festival I was working at some years ago. It was my day off and I decided to go see this. It was me and about four other people in the theatre, because everyone attending the festival was lining up for some dumb Rowan Atkinson world premiere. People, I tells ya.
