The old "lol jk" defense, AKA the "I'm a spineless, not really apologizing, and don't understand what I did wrong" defense.

exy - 2013-12-15

My handlers said to say it was a joke, so I guess I was joking? God, liberals have no sense of humor!

TeenerTot - 2013-12-16

Seems no one on her panel has one either.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-12-15

Is voting for a Democrat or being gay the only ways one can get fired from Fox News?

Old_Zircon - 2013-12-15

Same thing.

BorrowedSolution - 2013-12-15

"Light-hearted segment" she calls it.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-12-15

Must she bring her sex toys into this?

Binro the Heretic - 2013-12-15

I don't think you're a racist, Megyn. I don't think you believe in anything passionately and you have to be passionate in the belief of the supremacy of one ethnic group over all others to be a racist.

I think you said what you said because you knew the racist assholes who watch your network would find it pleasing and you would therefore continue to get paid by said network. That doesn't make you racist, Megyn, that makes you a whore. Whores aren't passionate about getting fucked or sucking cocks. They just make it seem like they are to ensure repeat business. In the end, all they really care about is getting the money, just like you, Megyn.

Every day, you go out there and say a bunch of shit you don't really believe just to get some money. Other people may be angry with you, but I'm just sad for you. So very, very sad.

That guy - 2013-12-15

People are upset that people are upset that people are upset that an imaginary character is white.

Monkey Napoleon - 2013-12-15

I suppose it's a good thing absolutely nothing of any note whatsoever is happening anywhere in the world so that we have the leisure time to argue about the skin color of a fictional character on national television.

It's like these people don't understand that having an opinion on the issue one way or another makes you a racist maniac.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-12-15

Really? Fictional or not, the idea that someone from the Iron Age Middle East was a white guy is kind of a sign that whoever holds that concept as even remotely possible is probably the racist maniac.

Blue - 2013-12-15

You know what's so dumb about saying that? You are, by making that argument, dedicating your time to something of even less value. Why aren't you out fixing Africa? Taking a break? No breaks! Only the most important thing is allowed to be addressed!

Monkey Napoleon - 2013-12-16

A: If Santa is middle eastern, that's the first time I've ever heard such a thing.
B: Believing that 100% completely fictional characters are white or black or whatever you believe them to be is one thing. Going on TV and spewing indignation that another persons conception of said, again, completely fictional character doesn't line up with yours is a whole other story.
C: I'm just a guy on a website having a discussion with other people. You're making a false equivalency between me, and an organization whose implicit purpose is ostensibly to inform. Black people like to picture Santa Claus as black? Who in the fuck cares? Santa Claus isn't a real person, living or dead. It's the *exact* same level of frivolity if they were up there arguing about which specific magic powers are attributed to him are the correct ones. The same thing could be applied to Jesus.

If I want to believe Dumbledore is a black/white man, I'm free to do so as I doubt the source material comes right out and says what his skin color is. When I start going on TV and calling people who think he's black/white shitheads for not understanding that yada yada he *must* be black/white, then I'm stepping over that line into racist territory.

P.S. I apologize for offending anyone who thought Dumbledore was real.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-12-16

I believe he was referring to the inspiration for Santa Claus, St. Nicholas of Syria, who gave gifts to poor children as a symbol of Christ's love for all.

Bort - 2013-12-16

St. Nicholas of Myra, a town in Turkey along the Mediterranean, not too terribly far from the Greek island of Rhodes. Definitely brown people all the same.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-12-18

He went to Syria for winter break, thus I win so BOO YAH Bort.

Adham Nu'man - 2013-12-16

"....IS TELLING OF TWO THINGS: THAT RACISM IS ALIVE AND WELL IN AMERICA AND THAT I AM THE TARGET OF IT!!!"

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-12-16

allow me to translate as I am fluent in Asshole:

"Whoever I'm banging to get this job and keep it is making me apologize and also I got yelled at for being too retarded to even be on Fox News."

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-12-16

oh and this

"And I also said Jesus was white, and that is FAR from settled."

translation:

"I was homeschooled. By idiots. I am very sorry for my blithering idiocy. I work at Fox News. Fox News Good! Me like! America! I'm pretty!" (drool)

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-12-16

And I don't know how many of you know this, but Santa Claus is black most of the time. He is magical so this gives him the power to change his appearance. He likes to keep this on the downlow because when he visits America and he goes into certain neighborhoods, it is pretty important for him to transform into a white man. This way the police don't gun him down in the interests of national security. Because, hello, a black man breaking into someone's house via their roof? I don't know what America you come from but I think Santa is pretty fucking smart to keep his white ass on until he gets the fuck out and back to the safety of his delicious Chocolate Wife.

After the first few dozen times he was shot, Santa got wise. The whole immortal thing, you see. And while some may see the actions of these brave police in gunning down Santa in a smeary bright blur of Christmas cheer as overreacting they are PATRIOTIC and thus perfectly necessary for our safety.

2 things Santa and Jesus have in common.

1. Everybody imagines them as basically omnipotent versions of themselves.

2. Neither did half the stuff ascribed to them.
