I love how they point to the fact that Robert Plant wrote Stairway to Heaven really quickly means it was inspired by the devil, because writing songs must only be done through long strenuous labor.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-12-25

I can see why they'd think that. Most Christian music, especially "contemporary praise" or whatever they call the soft-rock drone sessions they do these days, sounds like it was extracted painfully from whoever barely wrote the stuff, and that misery is built to be shared over what seems like an eternity.

Sad thing is I recall this documentary going into how corrupted and satanic CCM music is as well. These are just incredibly sad people who blame the devil for everything as an excuse their own lacking pitiful imaginations.

It is really funny to go back and listen to what they considered "Satanic." Alice Cooper is the son of a minister, and even though he dressed in an "evil" way, all of his lyrics were pretty clean.

I almost wonder if contemporary Christian stuff being given the stinkeye is a combination of seeing it as a threat to more traditional songs/worship coupled with a sort of dislike that religion is seen to be selling out (assuming the artist(s) are successful).

Jimmy Page owns and maintains Boleskine House, which is a British national treasure and frankly should be on stamps and currency.

I kept waiting for them to drop that A bomb, but they never did.

When he plays it backwards, I keep hearing "cock cock cock cock...". And what I think it is, I think Robert Plant is trying to make me gay.

If they sold their souls, it must have been to some bootleg Chinese knockoff Devil. Because Led Zepplin sucks.

Syd Midnight - 2013-12-30

It turns out their souls originally belonged to a couple of blues musicians and folk singers, so they don't have to go to Hell after all

Every generation needs to know about the religious attack on rock music, and how all rock music is dangerous.

My friend who had Holly the talking parakeet, her brother was in the church and had tapes from pastor Gary G. We had a rock music problem in class, kids were bringing their boom boxes and playing them on break.

My homeroom teacher listened to the Gary G tape, the same issues about Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, and Queen, then banned our tape players from being played in the classroom on breaks for the rest of the year.

Homer, Zeppelin didn't receive Stairway To Heaven from Satan, it was from a band they toured with called Spirit, who did a song called Taurus, and Zeppelin apparently based the melody on that.

I've heard all kinds of ideas on the origin of Stairway and what it's supposed to mean, but you can actually hear how similar Taurus is, and there are videos comparing them side by side.

You'd think the devil could write more compelling lyrics than "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow..."
