Caminante Nocturno - 2014-01-03

This game is about a cosplayer who is constantly attacked because her breasts are too small for the character she plays.

EvilHomer - 2014-01-03

Tell me about it!

More like, Mai Shiranu-A-cup, amirite?

RedRust - 2014-01-03

5 stars for NES Kungfu soundtrack, tighty-whities, and Mai from Samurai showdown.

EvilHomer - 2014-01-03

"Samurai Showdown"?!

>:0

Gmork - 2014-01-03

That is the name of the game Mai is from, yes.

Gmork - 2014-01-03

Or fatal fury, wasn't she in that too?

candyheadrobot - 2014-01-03

I thought Fatal Fury was it too, but oh well, she's in KOF and that's the only fighter that SNK makes now. WHat's important is that her breasts continue to defy reality with each iteration, beating out even DOA characters who actually all had reductions recently.

Gmork - 2014-01-04

Not even joking, sitting idle with a character and being minimalist and zen about the timing usually results in your opponent staring at your bouncing tits half the round and lose.

Gmork - 2014-01-04

Bonus if you have real bouncing breasts of your own!

EvilHomer - 2014-01-04

Oh come on Gmork, you're trolling me, surely! Mai was originally from Fatal Fury, but like most SNK characters, she's best known for her appearances in the King of Fighters. She was never in Samurai Shodown† . In fact, while many games have characters who might be mistaken for Mai (Maki from Final Fight, Kasumi from DoA), that is not the case with Samurai Shodown. The closest Samurai Shodown ever came to having a Mai-clone was Iroha the sexy swan maid, but I doubt anyone is mistaking the two, because they look nothing alike and because to the best of my knowledge Iroha only ever appeared in the Japanese releases (Samurai Spirits). If you follow the series closely enough to be familiar with Iroha, you're not going to mistake her for Mai.

And for God's sake people, note the spelling: it's Shodown, with no "w" in the "Sho"!

EvilHomer - 2014-01-04

† clarification: Mai was never in Samurai Shodown as a *playable character*. Mai (or rather, Mai's original Fatal Fury sprite) makes a brief appearance in the original Samurai Shodown, during both Haohmaru and Gen-An's endings... but since these endings took place in the 1850s, I highly doubt that was Mai. More likely, the girl whom Haohmaru and Gen-An fought was an ancestor of Mai. She also appears as a post-endgame ester egg in the Neo-Geo CD version of the Samurai Spirits RPG.

Old_Zircon - 2014-01-04

Well I'm definitely leaving the Samurai Showdown tag now.

EvilHomer - 2014-01-04

You should at least include a "Fatal Fury" tag for accuracy's sake.

Adham Nu'man - 2014-01-03

Is this that next-gen all the kids are talking about?

Vaidency - 2014-01-03

So did they rip sound files from some existing source or did they put out an ad for a voice actress to record ball-kicking one-liners? I'm sure either is plausible given Japan.

SolRo - 2014-01-03

voice actors are to japan are what graphic designers are to America.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-01-06

I love that they use the song from "Kung Fu" on the NES.
