Thanks to my misspent early teenage years, I associate impact explosives with the phrase "A big asshole in your school who beats up hall monitors comes over and rapes your girlfriend."
Year after year I come back to this as one of my favorite all-time bits of short cinema. Perfect in every detail, starting with the close-up: kids with unseen faces and masking tape affixing some kind of colored confection to a rectangular piece of metal, the sounds of war and laughter inexplicably in the background. Bit by bit the scene is revealed, with perfectly surreal touches all along the way (is that a Mexican juggalo working as a freelance explosives consultant?), perfect timing and camera work, and in the final seconds I'm always laughing my face off. Every. Damn. Time.
