if you understand basic principles like C/V and gate, step composition and general synthesis, the application is usually the same on any modular. I myself learned on a huge old EMU Modular and was able to patch a similar Moog modular without any problem.

OZ, have you ever been to that synthesizer get together they do in Lowell every year? One year somebody brought a giant Roland System 700 and I spent like half the night pretending I was Nitzer Ebb with the sequencer on that thing.

When I got my Atari ST a few years ago I traded away the modem and printer. Kind of regret that now.

When I was a kid, I learned to program mostly on an IBM PCjr. I loved that thing. A couple years ago, I read somewhere about somebody who had managed to get one to run the internet (text only). I would have loved to see that.

I never got too far into programming, but when I was in 5th 6th grade I liked going through the source code of games and adding level systems and changing the text and stuff.

It wasn't until years later I realized my dad was getting floppies of final BASIC projects from Freshman programming classes at the university where he teaches and bringing them home because we couldn't afford real games for our 286 (except Math Blaster).

That and ZZT-OOP were about as far as I got before I discovered the guitar.
