That puppy better not be a mutt.

EvilHomer - 2014-02-09

She'd rather have a puppy than a brother? What a bitch. Classic selfish only-child syndrome, and the dad just lets it slide.

That's what people are mad about, right?

joelkazoo - 2014-02-09

I believe this is the same family that had the kid throw cereal all over her dad's chest because Cheerios are good for the heart, and it caused just as much furor then, because the kid was wasting cereal:

I was upset about that one, too. Obviously, the black MAN has to be the lazy, unhealthy slob. He needs a white WOMAN to socially engineer him, by brainwashing his own kid and turning her into a corporate-brand-loving food fascist footsoldier.

That's racist and femmo-cratic.

WHAT DOES THAT LITTLE GIRL HAVE AGAINST CATS??? So offended right now.

Scrimmjob - 2014-02-09

Cheerios the official cereal of race traitors everywhere!

I remember seeing this in the news a week or so ago, but couldn't find evidence of people dumb enough to not realize that those of mixed race actually walk among them. Was this claim something the media made up, or were people seriously outraged by the existence of this cutie pie?

Urkel Forever - 2014-02-09

If I recall the controversy began when someone at MSNBC said this would only upset right wingers, and the Republican party was not happy to have this fact pointed out.

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2014-02-09

I'm convinced people are still working out whatever perceived race hatreds exist from Nelly making Buzz the Honey Nut Cheerios bee 'swag', and taking it out on this campaign.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-02-09

I am outraged that she did not choose a cat.

pastorofmuppets - 2014-02-09

It is kinda weird that the wife's whiteness is a reveal. SHOCKING

themilkshark - 2014-02-10

It's so you get angry at the end, after you're craving Cheerios.

TeenerTot - 2014-02-10

That kid is a wicked negotiator. I wish I'd thought of that when I heard there would be a little brother.

I hope to follow the adventures of this family in many more ads. Like when they go to the atheist neighbor's gay wedding.

SERIOUSLY!?!?!?!

I have a tiny sliver of empathy for those people who would be offended by the "America the Beautiful" (note: NOT the American National Anthem) Coke commercial sung in other languages and featuring a couple who most likely are gay. That was a big step forward, and the fact that it raises debate about what's truly "American," "Christian," et al is pretty commonplace.

The fact that ANYONE would be offended by an inter-racial relationship in 2014 absolutely sickens me. In 20 years when every state has allowed gay marriage, the Pope says it's cool, etc. will these people still be around saying that a white man should only marry a white man? I'm sure they will, but hopefully the great wasp attacks of 2022 will wipe most of the human wasps out.
