It's not propaganda so much as a joyous celebration of a broken social system; I don't see a lot of people who still need convincing that the Super Bowl is a good thing, if ever there were any.

I find professional sports to be fairly distasteful. Millions of dollars and millions more man hours to support what amounts to a celebration of frivolity. All so that a select few can be held up as some kind of hero for being paid mega-bucks to play a game.

I'm sure this has all been said before in a much more articulate manner but it's late and pro sports, money pits and hero worship in general just put me off.

I agree. During several sports strikes, studies were done about where all the money that would've gone to, say, baseball went. It turns out, people spent those dollars locally at restaurants, bars, and other entertainment venues instead of at huge stadiums that cause traffic congestion and suck tax dollars like a leech at a blood bank.

Not to mention the NFL is able to avoid taxes by claiming it's a non-profit organization whose only goal is to promote its sport of choice.

Ahhh conspiracy theorists; they've convinced themselves that they're superb diagnosticians but they can't tell the difference between cause and effect and lack the awareness that sometimes the distinction is meaningless entirely.

This guy probably sees himself as some kind of Paul Revere type. At this point you'd figure most people have heard of the conspiracy theories, but reject their claims. I don't think yelling stuff into a hastily stolen mic is going to convince them.
