Also I believe many people deserve front-page privilege at this point and they don't have it and there's no way to give it to them. The hopper should be for screening new submitters and unusual url's, instead its just a purgatory half the time.

Thanks for those thoughts, baleen. That's the direction I'm gradually moving the 54evil hopper--it's even worse when a news story doesn't hit the front page 'til after it's old news. (But I won't accept videos there unless and until this place dies the true death. After the hopper changes are complete I will work on accepting urls to sites and other media, poe-red-style.) End shill.

I submit like one video a year or something and have front page just because I've been here so long. There should be a way to grant it to more people, I agree.
