Yeah, the hair's not really working anymore. When he was young and trim, his hair was really nice, it gave him a kind of wistful rebel rock-star look; now though, it just makes him look like an out-of-work computer programmer.

And I'm not making fun of him! I went through a similar crisis with my own hair (which was far longer and scragglier than his), so I am qualified to recognize the signs of one's hair outliving it's usefulness.
