You go pinky!

EvilHomer - 2014-03-03

But baleen, weren't you arguing before that the porn industry was inherently negative and exploitative?

Watching this, it seems that Pinky is playing on two main themes: first, that the porn industry has been good to her, and second, that the very vocal minority of burned-out porn stars should stop blaming everyone else and accept responsibility for their own stupid choices. Both of these statements would seem to contradict your earlier comments, assuming I understand your position correctly.

baleen - 2014-03-03

She is one of the few lucky ones who has managed to successfully make a decent living. More power to her.

My position is that the industry is disgusting and that the vast majority of women who have to do this are not Pinkies, they are desperate, forced to work in deplorable and unsanitary conditions, for people who are extremely unpleasant and sometimes dangerous. I speak in particular of strip clubs.

The exploitative aspect has to do not with sex alone, I don't object on the grounds of sexual morality. They lack the protections afforded to the lowliest podunk dishwasher, and the fact that they're required to use their pussies for often the same amount of money only makes me more enraging. So if they are to capitalize their bodies in such a way, all I'd want is for a decent standard of living and the basic protections that they are entitled to. There's a fucking STAPH INFECTION crisis in the stripper community, but you don't hear about that. The reason is because they are filthy and the owners don't give a flying fuck. It's as if "they deserve it" because they're no better than whores. This is the aspect of the business that I dislike.

baleen - 2014-03-03

makes me more enraged.
enraging boners.

EvilHomer - 2014-03-03

So then what do you propose? How would you "fix" things, if you had the ability to do so?

PegLegPete - 2014-03-03

A modern welfare state with regulations. Duh.

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-03

Guaranteed living wage or at least guaranteed food and housing for all US citizens.

baleen - 2014-03-03

The thing is, they usually have criminal records. They have issues keeping them from being "normal citizens."

How about proper health regulations and oversight. A cut of the house profits. A window into respectable, tax-paying citizenship with health care and tax returns and the works. It's a trap, sex work, and the longer you're in it, the harder it is to get out.

A more important question is: Why are hundreds, if not thousands, of educated young women being forced to strip or do adult entertainment for a living to pay for school, make end's meet, pay rent, and so on? And yes, I completely realize that a lot of it is sexual experimentation and exploration, a lot of it is a need for a sisterhood or community of some kind, but that's really not the big reason. It's money and desperation.

Most of this would require a culture that doesn't treat their work as wrong, which is asking too much.

Start an adopt-a-stripper foundation

BiggerJ - 2014-03-04

baleen, are there any documentaries about the porn industry that you'd recommend?

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-04

Unless the Internet implodes, we're only a few decades away from a world where every adult citizen has made at least a little porn and the NSA can prove it, at which point maybe people will start to get more rational about it, kind of like what's finally happening with marijuana.

Pope Caius - 2014-03-04

A true humanitarian would choose hentai over 3D.

jangbones - 2014-03-03

DAS RAYCISS

Gmork - 2014-03-03

The kind of people throwing thousands of dollars around in a club are worthless cunts. That's a real good reason to be a stripper, though. Oh, I'm sorry, "dancer".

EvilHomer - 2014-03-03

Worthless cunts always overestimate the value of desirable cunts.

Chancho - 2014-03-03

A friend of mine spent 2 grand in one night at a Las Vegas strip club because a famous porn star hung out with him. LOL

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2014-03-03

I can't believe we've gotten this far into the comment section and haven't brought up this woman's enormous, fantastic, and eminently desirable hindquarters. Because damn, woman.

Gmork - 2014-03-03

I was going to say something about it, because I've spanked it many a time to her ass, but honestly I'm disgusted by her now.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2014-03-03

You'll have to forgive me, Gmork, but what did this woman say that was so offensive? "I won't pay top dollar because I'm not in a part of a business that can do that?" "Stupid men pay me a lot of money at black-oriented strip clubs and I'm cool with that?" Was it the "white girls are a dime a dozen" thing? Eh, well, everyone's a little bit racist. I don't watch porn because I think the people in it are sterling human beings. Pinky stays in my personal spank bank, though I've always that thought her lesbian scenes aren't really top-notch.

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-03

See I know her as a rapper.

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-03

Of sorts.

Bort - 2014-03-04

I'm pretty sure Pinky is not pondering what you guys are pondering.

Gmork - 2014-03-04

Casual racism is somehow worse than fanatical racism. At least it's easy to spot and avoid a fanatic racist, they give themselves away by being shitty people right off the bat. Casual racism is insidious because it slips by so often it becomes acceptable to people on a widespread basis.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2014-03-04

Okay, so she's a casual racist. But I've got some other stuff going on in my life and I'm not really going to worry if the booty girl I spank it to on the interwebs is a casual racist or not, so while I suppose I could get all indignant about it, I'm going to be like, "whatever." The other stuff she said didn't seem completely bereft of insight or sympathy for people who get a raw deal from the industry. I suppose I might judge a white casual racist differently, considering that they might face many of the same choices that I do but chose differently. Still, as the group that's supposedly slighted here, I'm gonna exercise my prerogative to jack it to videos of this woman on the reg.

Pillager - 2014-03-04

I always preferred Cherokee D'ass or Decollector. Pinky is cool, but I like more ample servings so to speak.

VaultDweller13 - 2014-03-04

unionization, co-ops, definitely wearing condom for those who work in porn industry. Basically more control by the workers over the production and distribution of their product is needed, not oligopolies sweeping the mega profits. But then we have this problem that most girls and men in the industry are extremely competitive and short-sighted including strippers. There is always the questions of pimps who profit from the girl's labor. At least this is my observation. Since there are no longer porn stars in the sense Jenna Jameson or Rocco Sifredi made it, most are only in the industry for 2 or three years and they quit like Sasha Grey did. And, documentaries, BBC hardcore Profits was a good documentary for starters, it gives you a sense of the political economy of the industry.

VaultDweller13 - 2014-03-04

maybe then porn would not suck so hard.. and strip clubs would not be such sad , depressing places.
