HOW IS THIS REAL.

exy - 2014-03-11

Is that a serious question? The ACA plug is how.

infinite zest - 2014-03-11

Yeah but what's something that's essentially working as an ACA plug, Zach asks at least a few questions where I was like "woah!" But with everything going on right now, we kind of forget that Obama's probably our most charismatic president next to JFK (maybe Clinton? Discuss) who liked to have beer garden discussions and remains open to criticism and can take a joke, even if it's coming from Zach. This is just Sesame Street for adults.

I'm reminded of the Stephen Colbert roast of W. Bush, where he literally tore him a new asshole, and how incredibly uncomfortable it made me feel. This was just kind of silly. Now get on that website! Oh but not if you use Linux. Then you can't use it. Go to your local library; I'm sure they'll let you stay longer than the 30 minute time limit if you explain that you're trying to fill out your ACA forms... grr

gravelstudios - 2014-03-11

You can tell that there are moments where Obama is having a hard time getting through his lines without cracking up.

Is this really so surprising? I mean, Richard Nixon went on Laugh In. This is exactly the kind of thing I'd expect President Obama to do. He knows that, for better or worse, this is the best way to reach his target demographic.

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-11

Clinton gave the graduation speech at my college during my junior year and I went to check him out. Guy's charismatic as fuck.

I'm kind of uncomfortable giving Funny Or Die any stars though.

infinite zest - 2014-03-11

holy crap. We got the bad guy from Billy Madison! He is a University of Wisconsin Madison alum, but still..

My brother went to Yale and I went out to his graduation and it was Hillary Clinton and George W. Bush. This was May 2001, and I turned my seat around when Bush got up on the podium. Others followed suit. It was awesome!

gravelstudios - 2014-03-11

I don't even remember who gave my college graduation speech, but my best friend's was Mae Jemison, and I was totally geeking out about that. I still wish I had talked to her, but the line was way too long.

craptacular - 2014-03-11

...from Kenya!

infinite zest - 2014-03-11

To me it's not surprising that Obama would participate on a show like this (if I'm not mistaken, didn't Clinton appear on SNL in a Wayne's World sketch, or am I just making that up in my head) but rather some of the questions, like "How does it feel to be America's last black president?" Funny, but also like.. Obama agreed to answer that question?

Most presidents do something like this, as mentioned above- Nixon did Laugh-in, Carter probably did something too, and even Bush Sr. did that episode of the Simpsons, but in all those cases there was never anything overtly offensive. Well, maybe the Simpsons, but it does a better job of showing Homer and his family as bad neighbors than it does picking apart the former president's shortcomings.

infinite zest - 2014-03-11

(facepalm).. I looked it up.. all these years I thought that was actually George and Barbara Bush doing the voices on the Simpsons :(

Prickly Pete - 2014-03-11

The boy's name is Bart, I don't know the name of the man. Bar! What's the name of the man?!

akinskirage - 2014-03-11

I'll ruin you like a Japanese banquet.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-03-12

You know, back was W was president, Harry Shearer (who I'm guessing did Bush Sr on the Simpsons) used to do a recurring sketch on his radio show in which he did both voices in a phone call between Bush Jr and Bush Sr. It was extremely impressive, because the voices were so similar.

spikestoyiu - 2014-03-12

Didn't Carter pop up on SNL?

Why don't I just Google this?

infinite zest - 2014-03-12

I always google things like "jimmy carter television appearance" or something vague like that first, but often it has to be more specific, especially with presidents, because they're on TV a lot. A quick search says it was always Dan Ackroyd playing him, but I'm sure he was on something.. definitely NOT the simpsons (a.k.a History's Greatest Monster).

boner - 2014-03-12

try imdb

spikestoyiu - 2014-03-13

Alright, apparently I'm thinking of Gerald Ford.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-03-13

I remember Ford on SNL doing the LIVE FROM NY intro the week when his press secretary, Ron Zeigler was the the host. He was hilariously stiff and wooden. I was looking for the footage to post here, couldn't find it. If I had a better computer I might be able to lift it off hulu plus.

Bush Sr. did SNL once, doing a routine with Dana Carvey. He was not funny, As politicians go, Obama has some pretty good low-key comedy chops.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-03-18

Bush Sr. was not on the Simpsons but he did develop a close friendship with Dana Carvey who played him on SNL and he has often cited the night vision goggles skit as one of the funniest things he's ever seen.

Bush Jr. has no sense of humor about himself at all.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-03-11

Obama was secretly rooting for Japan during the Winter Olympics because of anime.

He's a nerd, you see.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-03-12

If Obama was a nerd, Linux would work with the healthcare.gov website.

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-13

I think we all know what country he roots for in the summer Olympics.

infinite zest - 2014-03-13

^^Haha I retract my above stars and give them to you. It's Norway, right?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-03-12

Five stars for the reference to HANGOVER 3!

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-03-12

Probably the first dick joke delivered to a sitting president in history.

MurgatroidMendelbaum - 2014-03-12

LBJ would disagree.
Also, 5 historic stars for Zack.

boner - 2014-03-12

I'm just writing to say that I only just realized that the theme song is an elevator music arrangement of the taxi driver theme.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2014-03-12
