He looks like a garbage pail kid.

CIWB - 2014-03-23

For accuracy.

chairsforcheap - 2014-03-23

this is so good. I love me some jenny slate

Potrod - 2015-09-11

Too bad she comes across as a humorless bint here.

oddeye - 2014-03-23

Bust a gut at "Yeah, let's not get all fucking plural". Only thing missing is a mangrate.

Scrimmjob - 2014-03-23

The best thing to come out of youtubes comedy abortion week.

Riskbreaker - 2014-03-23

"daxflame"

Fuck.....

RedRust - 2014-03-23

Oh shoot. Didn't know Daxflame was in 21 Jumpstreet the movie remake. Thought he died and fell off the face of the planet after he stopped making those youtube videos...

baleen - 2014-03-23

If Norm MacDonald knew how much he is loved here he'd probably... You know... Feel good about that.

baleen - 2014-03-23

And I actually posted the live feed of this when it was on. I watched way too much of it.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-03-23

I get the idea that he's beloved by the little people, but not by anybody with the ability to actually to get him work. He seems to piss off anybody with a little bit of production authority.

infinite zest - 2014-03-23

I know he pissed off SNL, but from what I gather everything else is just commercial failure. On a side note, did you know that he played Michael Richard's character in the recreation of the infamous Fridays sketch in Man on the Moon? I never knew that! I love MacDonald and will follow him anywhere, except back to his house.

oddeye - 2014-03-23

How can you say that? Didn't you hear his passionate selling for that phone/tablet thing? How could any company pass him up?

Aelric - 2014-03-23

He also has a crippling gambling addiction. A few of your speculations were answered on the WTF podcast he did.

baleen - 2014-03-23

Norm didn't piss off SNL so much as NBC bigwig Don Ohlmeyer, who put the boot down on him simply because he didn't like him very much or think he was funny. The SNL cast and crew, from my experience on the set of the documentary Saturday Night Live in the 90's: Pop Culture Nation, was that he was generally loved by both Lorne and the cast. (Know who wasn't? Adam Sandler, but that's a different story)

As to why Norm can't get a leg up, I think he's really just one of those standups that's best suited for standup. A lot of great comedians simply can't seem to break into TV or films in any interesting way. The list is too long. His standup remains some of the best in the business in my opinion. I saw Me Doing Standup and its really pretty fantastic shit.

Hey look its on archive.org of all places for the next 12 minutes!

teethsalad - 2014-03-23

and ohlmeyer was pissed mostly because of all the jokes about OJ, who was a friend of his

infinite zest - 2014-03-24

Yeah I loved him as a kid on Weekend Update, but even as a kid a lot of those prison rape and OJ jokes made me cringe, like "is he trying to get fired?" Especially coming from Kevin Nealon, who in a way was the perfect person to host WU: just oblivious and funny. Ironically, if Norm were ten years younger and cast on SNL in the mid-to-late 2000s, I'll bet he would have been a huge success.

Prickly Pete - 2014-03-23

He has never changed in the decades he has been on tv. God bless that man.

Meerkat - 2014-03-23

Orville Redenbacher's Fluffer.

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-23

"He talks to people he doesn't know about things he doesn't care about with poorly disguised contempt" is my favorite Norm routine.

Hooker - 2014-03-23

My favourite is when he tries to make people laugh at jokes they don't find funny.

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-23

Forgot the stars.

yogarfield - 2014-10-14

yep

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-23

Other than Norm, everyone is almost indistinguishable from the cast of an MTV awards show from the early 90s, except possibly even more annoying. I'm sure Norm had just as much contempt for this stuff back then.

Old_Zircon - 2014-03-23

I mean the hosts.

Jeff Ross is dressed exactly like me in 8th grade except his clothes fit better.

Jack Dalton - 2014-03-23

I hope Norm gets more of these gigs-- he is the only person that makes this remotely watchable. YouTube "comedians"?-- who the fuck subscribes to that shit? Is there anyone here who has watched Kassem or Ray William Johnson and laughed?

Oh--enjoyed the comments criticizing Norm for his excessive use of the word fuck.

oddeye - 2014-03-23

How in the holy hell do these gormless fuck-bastards get millions of subscribers? Who would want to even know that these putrid buggers exist, let alone maintain some form of interest in their ballshit antics? Why do the rancid turds that they pass off as content get more views than an episode of True Detective? How is Big Bang Theory the most watched show on tv? What the fuck-and-piss is wrong with everyone?

Callamon - 2014-03-23

She got cut by a fuckin sorcerer.
