Not just warehouse work. Temp agencies around here (or at least their clients) are now demanding interviews for a measly 2 week long receptionist position.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, you now have to take 2 unpaid hours out of your work day for the POSSIBILITY of getting a dead end, entry level, minimum wage, benefit-free job that's guaranteed to fire you after two weeks.
And you have to sign an arbitration agreement before they'll even offer you the interview.

|
Nominal - 2014-04-06 I asked this here before, but how in the world are mandatory arbitration agreements legal? You're signing away your legal right to a civil trial under threat of destitution. To me, that's way more worse than yellow dog contracts.

There's a not-darker side?
|
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-04-06 I've had temp jobs with banks filing paperwork and such that was fairly alright.
But the more labor intensive the position, the more likely they will exploit you with totalitarian rules.

SolRo - 2014-04-06 sometimes they use lube while screwing you.

This country really needs a good, old fashioned labor uprising.

Jeeze. That last scene in part 5. Fucking tragic.

5 for evil.
Bathed in acid and spending 3 agonizing weeks dying. For what amounts to less than minimum wage.
Hanging them from lampposts with their neck-ties does not come close to the penalty needed for this type of institutional disaster.

That's pretty ironic for Vice, a company that basically runs off 18 year old interns.
